Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks for the intro, Helen. I need to add that, at this point, I do
not even know, for sure, who or how many are subscribed to the list,
though I have a very rough idea of a few who are. So, Helen and I will
sit back and see who else does introductions before we dive in further.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Subject: Introduction for Helen Owens
Hello.
I am Helen Fallin Owens, and I live in Thomasville, Ga. with David, my
husband of 37 years. We have two daughters, one granddaughter (age 11)
and one adopted grandson (age 7). I am the seventh child of 10 children
of Ufa H. Fallin and Cora Lee Taylor.
Cora Lee's parents were John Thomas Taylor and Mary Elizabeth Coleman
We are related to the Coleman surname two times.
John Thomas Taylor's parents were John W. Taylor and Sarah Ann Coleman
who is a daughter of James Coleman born about 1800, and sister to John
M.C. Coleman, James M. Coleman, and M. K. Coleman.
Then Mary Elizabeth Coleman is the daughter of Jeremiah C. Coleman, who
may be (or not) a cousin of Sarah Ann Coleman.
I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing information. Thanks for
the invite.

Hello. I suspect not all who are going to sub to this list have done so
at this point, but I thought I would go ahead and kick things off
anyway. I would like to suggest that we who are already subbed to the
list send a note to the list introducing ourselves to those who dont
know us or dont know our connection to James Coleman, and so I will
start.
I am Daryl Coleman, and I live in Garland, Texas, with my wife of 18
years and our two adopted daughters, aged 4 ½ and 2, Emily and Makayla.
I am the 4th son of 5 sons of David Harper Coleman, Sr. He was the son
of Walter Coleman and Ruby Florence Starr, of Spalding County, Georgia.
Walter was the son of Walter Flem Coleman and Mary Elizabeth Hammond, of
Spalding County, Georgia. Walter Flem Coleman was the son of John M. C.
Coleman and Sarah Wingfield Ogletree, also of Spalding County, Georgia.
And finally, John was the son of James Coleman, born abt. 1800. As most
of you know, we dont yet know for sure who James parents or siblings
were, but we do know that his wife was Mary Ann, surname unknown at this
time. There are some other things we do know, but we will get into that
as time goes. Lets see who else we hear from in these introductory
messages.
Now, its your turn. Send away. Remember, to send to the list, just
address to:
