R. Rogers High school. Miss Red-
mond attended Whitworth College and
received an associates degree in
nursing from Columbia Basin College.

Born October26, 1922 in Colmor, New Mexico to
William and Grace Blackstone; passed away March
29, 2006 in Spokane, WA. She moved with her
parents to Chewelah, Washington as a child.
Hazel graduated from Valley High School, Valley,
Washington. She married Ben Redmond in 1944.
He preceded her in death in 1958. After his
death she continued to run their business, Ben's
Auto Wrecking. She worked behind the counter
selling new and used parts. Hazel would even go
pick up a wrecked car. In 1964, she marred Wayne
Colegrove, and he preceded her in death in 2003.
They enjoyed traveling and snow-birding to
Arizona. Hazel was preceded in death by her
parents; brothers, Eddy Blackstone, Wilber Black-
stone and Rev. Ray Blackstone; sister Ruth Black-
stone; step-daughter Eva Casey and her husband
Walter; and grandson, Craig Myers. Survived by
daughters, Judy Myers (Warren), Ruthann Dainty
(Ed), Laura Redmond; son Gary Redmond (Kris);
stepson, Ben Redmond (Sharon); 11 grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews. Per her wishes, no service will be
held. Donations to the Shriner's Hospital for
Children, PO Box 2472, Spokane, WA 99210-2472 or
your favorite charity in her memory, may be made.
