In a formal late afternoon wedding
at Trinity Lutheran Church, Miss
Mary Ann Colgrove exchanged vows
with Douglas Roy Moore on August
1 at 4 p.m. The Rev. A. G. Johnson
performed the wedding rites.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Colgrove 2934
Fleetwood, are the parents of the
bride and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moore,
Cascade Locks, Ore., are the bride-
groom's parents.
Organist Mrs. Alfred Mass played
the nuptial music and Accompanied Mrs.
Howard Sims, soloist. The alter
was adorned with yellow gladioli and
white carnations.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore an empire style
gown in nylon organza with scalloped,
jeweled neckline and long sleeves of
acetate nylon lace. She wore a three
tiered lace chapel length train,
attached at the shoulder and shoulder
length veil of nylon tulle pedals
with simulated pearl loops and motifs.
She carried a bouquet of miniature
white carnations centered with a
white orchid.
Bridal attendants were Miss
Suzette Welch, maid of honor was
Miss Melissa Colgrove, bridesmaid.
They were gowned in yellow nylon
floor length empire waisted dresses
with lace overskirts. They carried
colonial bouquets of yellow and
orange carnations edged with lace
and wore garlands of the same
flowers as headbands.
Best man was Rodger Jordan and
Larry Thomas ushered.
Following the ceremony the recep-
tion was held in the church parlor
where the bride's cake was centered
on the draped table, encircled by
yellow and white pompon daisies and
orange carnations.
After a wedding trip to Oregon the
couple will be at home at 512 South
Mckinley.
The bride attended Casper College
and Michigan State University in East
Lansing, Mich. The bridegroom is a
graduate of Oregon State and is
employed as an engineer at Texaco.

Mrs. J. S. Brownell passed away at
Colorado Springs. Ellen A. Colegrove
Brownell, daughter of William and
Amanda Colegrove was born near Taylor-
ville, Ill., March 18 1869, and died
in Beth-El Hospital at Colorado
Springs on Jan. 3 1936, being 66 years,
9 months and 16 days of age. After
graduating from high school she did
office work in Taylorville for 12
years. During this period she was
actively identified with the local
Methodist church of which she was a
member and especially with the
Twentieth Century Sunday school class
of which she was the teacher for some
years. She then spent four years in
Chicago attending school, graduating
and then spending some time there in
deaconess work. She was married to J.
S. Brownell, then pastor in Lad-----,
Me., April 30 1908, and she has since
shared his work as a Methodist pastor.
To them was born one son John W. The
Funeral service was held at the Crawford
church Tuesday, Jan 7, at 2:30 p.m.,
the Rev. Paul A. Shield of Hotchkiss
officiating, assisted by the Rev. I.G.
McCormick, district superintendent, who
preached the sermon, the Rev. F.W. Brush
of Paonia, who read the scripture
lesson and the Rev. R. T. Schaefer of
Delta, who offered prayer. A solo was
sung by Miss Martha Savage, while the
choir consisting of William Den Beste,
Will Can Enger, Miss Edith Den Beste and
Miss Savage. Interment took place in
the Crawford cemetery. The Brownells
made their home in this community several
years while Rev. Brownwell was in charge
of the local M. E. church

Berry Wilson Fite, IV, 51 of Hilton Head Island,
died Tuesday, May 30, at the Medical Center of
the University of North Carolina. Mr. Fite and
his wife, Lindsay Colgrove Fite, moved to Hilton
Head from Atlanta in 1987. In Atlanta, he was
employed with Burroughs Corp. He also served
in the Army National Guard for six years. He
was born December 25, 1948 in Columbus, GA, the
son of Berry Wilson Fite III and Etta McLendon
Fite of Watkinsville, GA. He graduated from
Berry Academy in Rome, GA and from Jacksonville
University. In addition to his wife and parents,
surviving are a daughter, Courtney Brook Fite
of Hilton Head; a son and daughter-in-law,
Whitney Lee and Laura Fite of Atlanta; a brother,
Wiley Macrae Fite of Watkinsville; and two grand-
children, Morgan and Dylan Fite of Atlanta. A
memorial service will be held at a later date.

Edmund H. von Hoevel, 75, of Atlanta, died
February 28, 2000. He raised his children
in Lutheran religion. Mr. von Hoevel was
a mechanical engineer in the Aeronautical
Industry. In his career he worked with
Fairfield Engines and Gruman Aircraft,
Long Island, NY, Ryan Aircraft, San Diego,
CA, Hanlon & Wilson Company, Pittsburgh,
PA and the Elano Corporation which was his
later acquired by General Electric in Day-
ton, OH. Mr. von Hoevel was a private
pilot and a member of the Aircraft Owners
Association. His hobbies included sculling
during his college years and photography
throughout his life. He is survived by his
wife of 44 years, Erna U. von Hoevel; his
two daughters, Susan and Dr. Jeffrey
Minassian, Claudia and Dr. Robert Colgrove
and his only granddaughter, Paige Carissa
Colgrove, all of Atlanta. He will also be
missed by his beloved Yorkshire Terrier,

west Georgia face charges of
having sex with inmates.
Candace Colegrove, 33,

charged with sexual assault
against a person in custody.
They were released after

fired.
The women had sex with two
inmates, Sheriff Steve
Wilson said. Colegrove also

Henderson, he added.
