Called By Death
James E. Colegrove, of 14 Carlton
Place, passed away at his home last
evening at 10:30 o'clock. His
death was due to a heart attack,
which had been caused by pneumonia,
from which Mr. Colegrove suffered
in April. He had apparently
recuperated, however, and had
resumed his work at the United
Piece and Dye works in Lodi, where
he had been employed for the last
twenty-five years.
Mr. Colegrove was ths son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Colegrove,
and although born in New York City,
he came to Passaic with his parents
at the age of four years, and had
since resided here.
In 1899 he married Miss Margaret
Finch. No children were born of the
marriage. Mrs. Colegrove passed
away in November, 1929.
Mr. Colegrove was a member of the
Royal Areanum, and an exempt fire
man. He is survived by his sister,
Mrs. George Kellogg Rose Sr., of the
Harding Court apartments; a nephew
G. Kellogg Rose Jr., of Passaic; a
niece, Mrs. Leonard Marke, of West
Orange; a nephew Wilbur E. Romaine,
of Montclair; a niece, Mrs. R. Ester-
brook, of Auburndale, Mass.
Funeral services will be held in the
Blanchard Chapel of the First
Presbyterian Church on Saturday after-
noon, at 3:30 o'clock.

Mrs. James E. Colegrove.
Mrs. James E. Colegrove, an old
resident of Passaic, who formerly
lived on Pennington Avenue, died
at the residence of her daughter,
Mrs. George K. Rose, 36 Central
Park, South, New York, on Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at
Mrs. Rose's residence tomorrow at
11 a. m.
Mrs. Colegrove lived in Passaic
since 1872 having moved here from
New York City. She joined the
First Presbyterian Church and was
active in the Home and Orphan
Asyum and was one of the
governors. She also was a worker
for the Passaic General Hospital
and took an active interest in early
part of its history.
She was a member of the Union
Benevolent Society, and aside from
organized charitable work, gave freely
to those who needs were brought to
her attention.
She leaves two sons and one daughter,
Warren S. Colegrove, of West Newton,
Mass.; James E. Colegrove, of Clifton;
and Mrs. Rose.

Thomas, did in 1960. Her first

died previously.
Survivors include her son,

Jean MacLeod of Pawley's Island,
SC.; nine grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren.

Miss Laura F. Colegrove, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James E. Colegrove was
married last night at the residence of
her parents on Pennington avenue, to
Mr. DeWitt Romaine, by rev. P.F. Leavans.
Upwards of 150 guests were present from
Passaic, New York, Brooklyn, Buffalo and
elsewhere. Miss Josie Colegrove, the six
year-old daughter of Mr. Warren E. Cole-
grove acted as bridesmaid. The ushers
were Mr. Jas. Colegrove and Mr. Stephen
Marsellus, of Clifton.
The wedding supper was served by R. O.
Hill of Paterson. The number of presents
received was extraordinary, indicating
plainly that the young couple were very
popular and have a host of friends. It
took a large room to display the silver
and ornamental part of the presents.
The out of town guests included Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Craft, and Miss Craft of
Buttavia, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Nobles,
Miss Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Deitzer, of
Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Harris of Elba, N.Y.

Anne "Nancy" (Hart) Colegrove,
83, of Metuchen died Sunday,
Aug. 21, 2005, at Saint Peter's
University Hospital, New
Brunswick.
Born on June 30, 1922, in
Pittston, Pa., she resided in
Metuchen since 1948.
She was a nurse at Jersey
City Medical Center and worked
in the Premie Intensive Care
Unit at Saint Peter's University
Hospital. Anne was the school
nurse at St. Francis School in
Metuchen for 20 years until she
retired in 1976. She served in
the Army Nurse Corps as a
lieutenant during World War II.
She was a communicant of St.
Francis of Assisi Cathedral,
Metuchen. She was a member of
the PTA at St. Francis School,
Metuchen. She was a member of
the Golden Years Senior Citizens.
She was a member of the Lincoln
Apartments Social Club. She was
also a member of the Community
Women's Club of Metuchen.
She was predeceased by her
husband, Edward Colegrove in 1967,
and by her five brothers, Robert,
Harry, John, Joseph and James, and
her sister, Louise Staub. She is
survived by two sons, John Edward
Colegrove and his wife, Barbara,
of Metuchen and Howard Robert Cole-
grove and his wife, Debbie, of
Metuchen; seven grandchildren, a
Great-grandchild; many nieces and
nephews, and great-nieces and
great-nephews.

of honor. Her floor-length dress

wore a matching halo. She
carried an arm bouquet of orchid-

Mr. Jones. Ushers were Allan
Colegove, Riverside, brother of

Following a trip, Mr. and Mrs.
Jones will live at 617 Seventh
Avenue, Asbury Park.
Mrs. Jones, daughter also of
the late Mrs. Ethel Ferris Cole-
grove, was graduated from Green-
wich schools and the school of
household sciences and art,
Pratt institute, Brooklyn. She
is an instructor with the Town
of Greenwich Adult Education
department.
Mr. Jones was graduated from
Asbury Park schools and received
a mechanical engineering degree
from Stevens Institute of Tech-
nology. During the war, he was
an officer with the Signals
Corps and the army air corps and
also did special service work with
the navy. He is an electronics
engineer at Coles Signal Laboratory,
Holmdel, N.J.
Mr. Jones is flute soloist with
the Monmouth Little Symphony and
the Shore Symphony of Red Bank,
N.J., and the American Legion band
of Asbury Park.

Candler -- Alma Beatrice Colgrove,
72, of 161 Fairmont, Road, Candler.,
died Friday, Feb. 26, in a local
hospice center after a long illness.
A native of Stubenville, Ohio, she
had lived in Buncombe County since
July, 1992. She worked for 26 years
as a veterinarian's assistant and
showed schnauzer dogs in shows. She
was a member of canton, Ohio, United
Methodist Church and the American
Kennel Club. She was the daughter
of Alice Alma Runyon Colgrove of
ASheville and the late Wesley Glenn
Colgrove.
She is survived by two nephews,
Harry C. Colgrove of Candler and
Jack A. Colgrove of Vienna, W. Va.;
niece, Patty Fellows of Richmond,
Ohio; a step-nephew, and a step-niece.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday
at Dunlope Shroac Funeral Home in
Wintersville, Ohio, with the Rev.
Jack A. Colgrove officiating. Burial
will be in Union Cemetery, Stubenville,
Ohio.
The family will receive friends from
7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Dunlpe Shroac
Funeal Home.

her parents. She wore a floor length
gown with a chapel train of organza
and peau d ange lace. the fitted lace
bodice featured a Victorian neckline
with an illusion yoke and full length
tapered lace sleeves ending with an
organza flounce over the hand. Seed
pearls softly adorned the bodice.
The full length flared skirt extended
into a chapel train.
She chose a chapel length mantilla
bordered with peau d ange lace flowing
from a lace capelet for her headpiece.
Maid of honor was Rachel Sasser,
sister of the bride, of Nashville.
Bridesmaids were barbara Clark, sister-
in-law of the groom, of Henderson, and
Jo Ann Hemme, friend of the bride., of
Rocky Mont.
The groom's best man was his brother,
Rev. John Clark of Henderson. Ushers
were Randy Colegrove, brother of the
bride, of Nashville, and Hal Hemme
M.D., friend of the couple, of Nashville.
The bride is a 1979 graduate of Northern
Nash Senior High School. She attended
Hardbarger Junior Business College and is
presently attending Nash Tech. She is
employed with Nash General Hospital.
The groom is a 1971 graduate of
Henderson High School. He received his
B.A. in Spanish from the University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he
spent part of his junior year at the
University of Puerto Rico in San Juan,
Puerto Rico as an exchange student. He
graduated from Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Wake Forest with
his Master of Divinity degree, cum laude.
While at Southeastern he received the
Robinson Advanced Languages Award and the
Frances J. Durham Hebrew prize. He was
also a member of the Sons of the Prophets
Honorary. He is a 1980 graduate of Nash
technical Institute with an A.A.S in nursing.
There he served as student body president
and as president of the Gamma Beta Phi
honorary.
The groom has served as associate pastor
of East End Baptist Church, Roanoke, Va.,
and as associate minister of New Covenant
Church Mission, Louisville, Ky. He
taught Spanish at Nash Tech and worked a
year and a half in the emergency department
at Nash General Hospital. He is presently
employed in the Intensive Care Unit of
Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount, and is
an active evangelist.

LAPWAI, Idaho -- Mrs. Iva Grace
Belt, 65, dies last night at St.
Joseph's Hospital of a heart
condition.
Mrs. Belt was born in 1904 in
Pennsylvania. From 1958 to 1965
she live at Post Falls, Idaho,
then moved to Lapwai.
She married Courtney Belt in
Montana in 1958.
Survivors include her husband;
two sons, Roy Colgrove, Umatilla,
Ore., and Fred Colgrove, in New
York, and two daughters, Charlotte
Whyles, West Haven, Conn., and
Myrtle Moore, Rochester, N.Y.
Services are Friday at 11 a.m.
at Vassar-Rawls Chapel with burial
in Normal Hill Cemetery.
