Allan Colegrove Married
in Beverly Hills Church
The Church of the Good Shepard in
Beverly Hills was the scene at 5
o'clock Saturday afternoon for the
exchange of wedding vows between
Miss Betty Lewis of that city and Allan
Colegrove, son of Dr. and Mrs. J. A.
Colegrove of 1180 Sierra Madre.
Before the alter massed with clusters
of golden Chrysanthemums, Rev.
Patrick Concannon performed.
The bride, who is the daughter of
Mrs. James Laurence Lewis, was pre-
sented in marriage by her uncle,
Henry L. Jennings of Denver Colo.
She was gowned in white crepe,
princess fashion with long sleeves
and "V" neck. A cap of heirloom lace
held the tulle veil which flowed
beyond the gown's train line. Her
bouquet was yellow - throated white
orchids.
The same shade of yellow was also
seen on the satin bows tied to the
tapering single candelabra which
lined the church aisle.
Maid of honor was the bride's cousin
Miss Ellenora Egan, who wore a gown of
bouffant pale yellow marquisette and a
matching velvet crowned halo hat and
carried a dainty spray of butterfly
orchids of the same pale yellow. Best
man for the San Marino bridegroom was
Dr. John Murrieta, while ushers
included Edward Rothe, Jack Wertheimer
and Dr. Donald Spires.
Following the wedding, a reception
for several hundred was held in the
gardens of Mrs. Lewis's Beverly Hills
residence.
There the bridal table was decorated
with white orchids and gardenias.
Between silver candelabra hung ropes
of these flowers, tied with silver
bells. Close by was an immense tierea
cake, surmounted by a miniature bride
and groom.
Mrs. Lewis chose blue for her after-
noon gown as did the bridegroom's
mother. The former's was Alice blue
in color, its hat of similar hue,
winged on one side by a spray of para-
dise, while Mrs. Colegrove's was
deeper in tone and a stunning contrast
to her American beauty toque.
Bidding goodbye to her friends, the
bride wore a cerise colored dress and
black tailored coat. Her muff and fur
piece were of silver foxes. After 10
days' honeymoon the young Colegroves
will make their home in Los Angeles.
Mr. Colegrove is a graduate of U.
S. C. where he belonged to Sigma Chi.
His bride attended Dominican Convent,
San Rafael and studied abroad for
five years. She is a member of the
Los Angeles Junior Auxiliary and
Assistance League.
