Mrs. Eunice Sarah Smith, 34, wife
of Arlie L. Smith, died Sunday night
at her home a mile west of Colburn.
Surviving are the husband; three
children, David, Marjorie and Richard;
three sisters, Mrs. E. S. Baugh,
Porter; Mrs. Helen Charleston, Chester-
ton; Mrs. Wilbur Collins, Monticello;
brothers, Henry Colgrove, Winamac;
William and Gail, Hammond, and Raymond,
Alabama. Funeral rites were conducted
at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at
the residence, Rev. W. M. Schwein, of
Delphi, in charge. Burial was made in
the Odd Fellows cemetery, at Delphi.

Millissa L "Mitsie" Colgrove, 50,
Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of
Winamac, passed away on Friday, Jan.
2, 2009.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, John F. and Sue Ann Glasson,
and brother, Clay Glasson.
Surviving are her husband, Jefferey
Colgrove; children, Shae (Colleen)
Colgrove, Lafayette, Millisa (Jason)
Murdoch, Chicago, Cord Colgrove and
Lindsey (Kyle) Podell, Myrtle Beach,
S.C.; sisters Nickie Langley,
Rochester and Angela Sue (Jay)
Sanders, Winamac; Brother, Bradley
(Sharon) Glasson, Logansport; four
grandchildren, Deegen Podell, Jacob
Murdoch, Zachary Colgrove and
Kinsley Podell.
Although the Colgrove family is
saddened by their loss, they are
blessed to welcome a new member of
the family. Kinsley Ann Podell,
who was born the same morning of
Mitsie's passing. Mitsie's life
was dedicated to taking care of her
children, grandchildren and the
family that surrounded her.
A memorial service in her honor
will be held at a future date in
Winamac.
In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to the American Cancer
Society.

JOHNSTOWN, DIES

BICKNELL -- Louis Colegrove, 77
a retired miner, died at 2:30 p.m.,
Monday. His home is in Johnstown,
near Bicknell.
He was born Feb. 25, 1874, in the
country near the Brick school,
south of Bicknell. He was a member
of Asbury Chapel and a member of the
United Mine Workers of America for
50 years.
He was married Jan. 31, 1902, to
the former Miss Catherine Goyer,
who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, William
and Harold Colegrove, both of Bick-
nell; two daughters, Mrs. O. E. Smith,
also of Bicknell, and MRs. L. M. Day
of Petersburg; four grandchildren;
one great-grandchild; a brother
Harmon Colegrove of Arkansas, and
two sisters, Mrs. Orphia Nolting of
Bicknell and Mrs. Melvin Stoelting
of Bicknell rural route.
The body is at the Poindexter and
Wampler funeral home, where friends
may call after 6 p.m., Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p.m., Thursday at Asbury Chapel,
with the Rev. Walter Williams
officiating and with burial in the
Asbury Chapel cemetery.

BICKNELL -- Miss Martha Jean Manaugh,
Madison became the bride of Jimmy D.
Colegrove, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L.
Colegrove, Bicknell, in a ceremony Sept.
2 at the Presbyterian church in Madison.
Rev. Edwin Shake, pastor of the Madison
Methodist church, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. C. O. Manaugh.
Mr. Nanaugh gave his daughter in
marriage. She wore a gown of white
burmil satin and chantilly lace. It
was designed with sweetheart neckline,
fitted bodice and full skirt flowing
into a cathederal train. Her lace-
bordered veil of illusion was attached
to a seed pearl trimmed juliet cap. Her
only jewelry was a strand of pearls, the
gift of the groom. She carried a
colonial bouquet of white tuberoses
centered by a white orchid.
Mrs. Frank Gaines, sister of the bride,
was matron of honor, while the groom had
his brother, Garry Colegrove, as his best
man.
The matron of honor wore a gown of
harvest wine satin. Her flowers were
wine colored pompoms with matching ribbon
streamers.
Bridesmaids were Laura Ann Mills of
Madison and Deloris Heinlein and Kathy
Hadley of Indianapolis. Their dresses
were ice-blue satin. They carried
bouquets of yellow pom-poms and wore
headbands of matching flowers and ribbon.
Ushers were Francis Gaines of Madison,
Grover Overbay and Ernest Thompson of
Bicknell and William Kingsley of Decatur.
Traditional bridal music was provided
by Mrs. William Moorhead at the organ,
and preceding the ceremony Spencer
Schnaitter sang "Sweetheart of Sigma Chi"
and "Always".
The church was decorated with ferns,
large bouquets of white gladioli and
white tapers in tall candelabra, and the
couple gave their responses before an
archway of greenery and white flowers.
The rings were carried to the alter
by Carolyn Kalb and Steven Gaines.
The little girl wore a gown styled to
match that of the bride's attendants
while young Steven was dressed in white
jacket and black trousers as were the
groom, best man and ushers.
Mrs. Manaugh wore a dress of purple
velvet with mauve accessories while the
groom's mother wore navy blue. Both had
pink corsages.
The two grandmothers of the couple, Mrs.
Allie B. Manaugh and Mrs. Kate, wore
corsages of white roses.
Following the wedding ceremony a
reception was held in the church parlors.
A three-tiered cake topped by miniature
bride and groom, featured the decorations
while music was again provided by Mrs.
Moorhead.
Those serving were Marjorie Mills,
Jeanette Shipley, Mary Jane Cox and Mary
Jane Beetem of Madison, Marge Dyer of
Rushville and Susan Phillips and Judy
Wilkes of Columbus.
For traveling the bride wore a grey
flannel suit trimmed with black braid,
red velvet hat and matching accessories.
Mrs. Colegrove attended Hanover College
and is a member of Phi Mu and Tri Kappa
sororities and the Presbyterian church
of Madison. The groom is a junior at
Hanover and a member of Sigma Chi and
the First Methodist Church of Bicknell.
The couple plan to make their home at
Hanover.

Riley Colegrove.
Special to the Indianapolis News
Lebanon, August 20.-- Riley Colegrove,
one of the best-known and most prosper-
ous farmers of Boon county, living three
miles north of this city, died yesterday
morning. Mr. Colegrove was about
seventy years of age, and for thirty
years has been a resident of Boone County,
and has always been identified with the
interests of the county, being an earnest
advocate of free gravel roads and of
public ditches. He was the owner of two
of Boone county's finest farms and was
considered a model farmer. He served as
sheriff two terms. He was director of
the Lebanon National Bank and also of
the Boone County Agricultural Society.
He had always been economical and had
accumulated a fortune of $40,000.

Mrs. W. J. Swisher was called to
Hampton last Saturday by the word
that her stepmother, Mrs. Lucinda
Colgrove, was very low and not
expected to survive. Her death
occurred a few hours later and be-
fore. Mrs. Swisher arrived at her
bedside. About five hours after
the passing away of Mrs. Colgrove
Mrs. Swisher's father also died,
both due to advanced age. Mr.
Colgrove was born in Vermont, Oct.
18th, 1820. In 1843 he was united
in marriage to Miss Nancy Drake who
died in 1885. He was again married
in 1898 to Miss Lucinda Dubbs. He
has been a resident of Rock Island
county since 1843. The double
funeral was held Tuesday at 10 a.m.,
at the M. E. church at Hampton. Mr.
and Mrs. Swisher returned to their
home in this city Wednesday after-
noon.

Jo Ann Colegrove of New Lenox and Mike Kraft
of Frankfort were married June 21 at Christ
Evangelical Lutheran Church on Orland Park.
The bride is the daugther of Virginia and Roy
Colegrove of New Lenox. The bridegroom is the
son of Leslie Kraft of Frankfort and the late
Mr. Raymond Kraft.
Colegrove is a graduate of Lincoln-Way
Community High School and is employed by the
Frankfort Square Park District.
Kraft is a graduate of Tinley Park High
School and is employed by American Wilbert
Burial Vaults in Chicago.
Following a wedding trip to Florida, the
couple reside in Frankfort.

Jessie Eutsler, 93,
Chambersburg, dies;
Services Thursday
Mrs. Jessie Ellett Eutsler, 93, of
Chambersburg, died Tuesday, March 20,
at the Jacksonville Convalescent
Center.
She was born Dec. 14, 1890, in
Taylorsville, daughter of Edward and
Kate Wolfe Colegrove. She married
Conrad Ellett in Oct of 1913 and he
preceded her in death in 1954. She
later married Roy Cane Eutsler in
April of 1962 and he preceded her in
death in 1969.
She is survived by two sons, Howard
Ellett of Chambersburg and Darrell
Ellett of Chilicothe, Ohio; six grand-
children; five great-grandchildren;
and a half-brother, Loren Colegrove of
Tayorsville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at
the Davis Memorial Home in Edinburg.
Interment will be in Universal Cemetery
at Sharpsburg. Visitation will be
from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home.

WANTS DIVORCE AFTER FIFTY YEARS.
John G. Colegrove, an old and well
known resident of Taylorsville has
filed suit for Divorce from his wife,
Elizabeth M. Colegrove, to whom he
has been married nearly 50 years.
His only plea is desertion.
Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove were married
in Stonington in 1854.

Mrs. Catherine Colegrove.
Mrs. Catherine Colegrove died at a
quarter past 10 o'clock at her home
in Kirkwood Wednesday morning after
a lingering illness of six months
duration, in the seventy-ninth year
of her age. She had been very low
for the last eight weeks and her
death was not unexpected.
Catherine Corey was born near
Rushville, Ind., December 15, 1826.
She was married to Alphonso B Cole-
grove July 27, 1943. In 1858 they
moved to Iowa where they lived till
1875 when they came to Kirkwood.
Mr. Colegrove died in 1897. There
were twelve children born to them,
of whom there are but five now
living. They are Miss Mary Shen-
bargar and Oliver P. Colegrove of
Kirkwood, Mrs. Jane Hohl of Indianola,
Ia., and Mrs. Sarah Shook and Mrs.
Clara Shook of Media, Ill. She also
leaves two brothers and several
nieces to mourn her departure.

at Bloomington on Wednesday, March 14,
The ceremony was a very impressive
one, the ring service being used.
The bride never looked more beautiful.
She was attired in a snowy white dress,
trimmed with valenciennes lace, taffeta
ribbon and bow knots. Her ornaments
were diamonds. The groom wore the
conventional black.
This marriage comes in the nature of
a complete surprise as not even their
most intimate friends knew of it.
Both are held in the highest esteem
by all who know them and are among
Champaign's best young people. The
bride has resided here for the past
six years and is a handsome and
accomplished young lady, having
graduated from the Chamaign high
school with the class of '96. Her
kindly disposition and charming
personality have won her many true
and loving friends. Mr Colegrove is
to be congratulated for the good
taste and judgement he has shown in
choosing her for his wife. The
groom is an energetic yound business
man, being the senior member of the
firm of Colegrove and Arrington,
and well known in business and
social circles, although he has
resided here but a short time. As
Mr. and Mrs. Colegrove they will
receive the hearty congratulation
of their hosts of friends who wish
them a long and happy voyage over the
sea of life.
They will return to Champaign in
about ten days.

Grand Rapids, April 14 (UP) --
Four youths, members of socially
prominent Grand Rapids families,
were injured, one fatally in an
automobile collision near here.
The victims were:
Robert Colgrove, 14, son of Mrs.
Grace Colgrove and grandson of the
late Philip Colgrove of Hastings,
instantly killed.
Leonard Verdier, 14, son of
Superior Judge Leonard D. Verdier,
critically injured.
Teddy Hewitt, 15, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Audley Hewitt, critically
injured.
Holmes Ellis, 16, son of the late
Howard T. Ellis, former assistant
United States district attorney
here slightly injured.
The youths were returning from
the Cascade country club late
Saturday night when their machine
struck a car driven by Mrs. Lillian
Kleiner, who escaped injury. The
youths machine overturned and
caught fire. Walton Jones, 14, was
the only passenger in the wrecked
car who was unhurt.
