MRS. ADAH LONG, seventy-five, who
passed away unexpectedly Tuesday
morning, was laid to rest today
in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Buffalo.
The funeral service was conducted
at 9 o'clock this morning at her
home on Chestnut Street, the Rev.
Edward J. Cory, pastor of the
Andover Methodist Church,
officiating. Mrs. Long came to
Andover from Buffalo about twenty
years ago. She is survived by
three daughters, Mrs. Blanche
Mitchell, Buffalo: Mrs. May Vaughn,
Rochester: and Mrs. Bessie Colgrove,
Hemlock, and twelve grandchildren.

years, Julius A. Nickel, 75,

men, died Tuesday in Sisters'

Becoming an apprentice
shortly after coming to Buffalo
from New York Mr. Nickel later
was a compositor and then
superintendent of the American
Lithograph Company. He
recently was employed by the
Holling Press.
Mr. Nickel was a member of
Erie Lodge of Masons, Fidelity
Lodge of Odd Fellows and
Genesee Tribe of Redmen, besides
Mrs. Weisenheimer, he leaves
another daughter, Mrs. Raymond
J. Colgrove, two granddaughters
and a great-granddaughter.

MRS. GRAF RETIRING
Mrs. Frances C. Graf of 79 West-
field Rd., Eggersville, mathematics
teacher in School 51, will retire
this month. She has a record of
36 years of teaching, 22 of them
in her present school at 101 Hertel
Ave. and previously in Schools 58
and 64.
Mrs. Graf is looking forward to
"a life of leisure adn perhaps a
California trip."
As Frances E. Colgrove, she was
married to the late Dr. Ernest G.
Graf and had three children. After
the death of her husband, a
dentist, she prepared for the
teaching profession in the State
Normal School. She will be honored
by the School 51 faculty and former
teachers at dinner Monday in the
Colvin Cassino.
Mrs. Graf lives with her daughter,
Mrs. Millard Scott, and family.
She has two sons, Ernest G. of
North Tonawanda and Donald E. of
Buffalo.

Native of Salamanca
To be Buried Tuesday
Mrs. Nellie C. Terry, wife of Le-
land B. Terry, 47 Jefferson St.,
died yesterday afternoon in the
Salamanca District Hospital following
an illness of the past two weeks.
Mrs. Terry was born in Salamanca
Oct. 10, 1879, and had resided here
all her life. She was the daughter
of the late Dr. John P. Colgrove and
Dr. Salina Colgrove.
She was educated in the Holy Angels
School, Buffalo, and was graduated
with the class of 1899 at the Buffalo
Seminary. She was a member of the
Salamanca Chapter of the D.A.R., and
the St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived
by one daughter, Mrs. Heaton Goff;
one granddaughter, Terry Lee Goff; one
niece, Mrs. Searle H. VonStork,
Waverly, Pa., and one nephew Phillip
B. Nichols, White Plains.
The funeral will be held tomorrow
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
O'Rourke & O'Rourke Funeral Home, 25
River St.
The Very Rev. E. T. Pancoast will
officiate. Burial will be in the
family plat in Wildwood Cemetery.

BODY IDENTIFIED
The body of the man found May
29 May in the Buffalo river near
the Abbot road bridge was
identified Tuesday afternoon as
that of Thomas Colgrove, 78, who
had been missing since May 25.
Identification was made at the
morgue by Mrs. Jennie Colgrove,
his widow.

MRS. MARIAN COLGROVE

Mrs. Marian Colgrove died at
Mt. Vernon recently after a long
illness. She was the daughter of
Charles Frank and Huldah (Clinton)
Bushnell. She was born in 1884 in
home at Bushnell's Bridge, one of
a family of eight children, three
boys Harvey, Harry and Scott, and
five girls, Evalena, Blanche,
Bertha, Anna and Marian all of
whom are now dead.
She graduated from Gilbertsville
High School, became a teacher and
is remembered by out older
residents as having been their
teacher in grade school days.
Later she taught in the Mt. Vernon
Schools, married Mr. Edward H.
Colgrove, and after his death in
1957, has lived in that city.
She is survived by a niece, Mrs.
Janet Trembley Martel and a
nephew, Mr. M. Bushnell Trembley,
who has five sons.
Mr. and Mrs. Trembley together
with one some came to Gilbertsville
for committal services which were
held in Brookside Cemetery on
Saturday November 19. Re.v Rover L.
Beach pastor of Gilbertsville
Presbyterian Church conducted the
service noting that he did not
personally know Mrs. Colegrove, but
that she joined the church in 1894
and had always kept her membership
here.

EX-BUFFALONIAN
A Christmas present in the form
of a Japanese Zero given Uncle Sam
on Dec. 25 is only one of the feats
of First Lieut. Robert E. Colgrove,
23, former Buffalonian. Fighter
pilot of a Curtis P40 in the
southwest Pacific area, he was
awarded the Distinguished Flying
Cross for having participated in
50 combat missions, in addition to
the Air Medal he received in
September for 25 Missions. He has
also been given two bronze oakleaf
clusters to this medal, one for
shooting down the Zero and another
for hitting an enemy bomber.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlow F.
Colgrove, 140 Washington St.,
Canandaigus, he worked for a year
and a half in the block department
of the Liberty Bank of Buffalo and
he enlisted in the Army Air Forces
in December 1942.
