tied with bronze and white
ribbons.

Railway company here for the
past six years and Mr. Hale is
a business man of Waukon. The

going to Waukon to make their
home.

at Hanover Hospital.
Mrs. Colgrove was born Mary
Dorothy Dodd on April 1, 1915, in
Strawberry Township, Washington
County, and had lived in the area
most of her life. She was a homemaker
and a member of the United
Methodist Church, Linn.
Survivors include her husband,
Wilbur of Linn; a son, Dwight of
Washington; three daughters, Twila
Brandt and Dorothy Brandt, both of
Wichita, and Anita Bott of Greenleaf;
a brother, Thello Clarence Dodd of
Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Dora
Joyce of New York City, Doris Hill
of Ventura, Calif., Ruth Hatcher of
Atascadero, Calif., and Clara Mae
Gunn of Lubbock, Texas; 15 grand-
children; and three great-grand-
children.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at the United Methodist
Church, Linn, the Rev. Richard
Krenz officiating. Burial will be in
the Washington City Cemetery.

Fred Mayberry
Fred Calvin Mayberry, the youngest
son of Jonah Leander and Martha Susan
Francis Pursley Mayberry, was born near
Haddam, April 28, 1904, and died
January 8, 1991, at Washington. He was
86.
He spent all his life in the rural
Morrowville area.
In 1928 he was united in marriage to
Eva Colgrove in Beatrice, and to this
union one child; Evelyn, was born.
In their early married life they lived on
a farm southwest of Morrowville and in
1930 moved to a farm in the Enosdale
community, until he recently retired to
Washington.
He was a member of the Christian
Church in Morrowville.
His wife died March 13,1978.
He later married Maude Mayberry,
the mother of Bill Mayberry, Belleville,
and Allen Mayberry, Auburn, Nebr.
He was also preceded in death by his
parents and five brothers, Will, Frank,
Clarence, Guy and Earl.
He is survived by: his daughter, Mrs.
Darrel (Evelyn) Portenier; eight
grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 11
at the Christian Church of Morrowville,
with Rev. Ian Blacker officiating.

Hutchinson.
On Aug. 28 1933, he married Ann
Margaret L. Gabel at Great Bend.
She died Dec. 31, 1986.
Survivors include; two sons. F.
Arthur Jr., South Hutchinson,
and Hermon C., San Antonio, Texas;
two daughters, Beverly Boyer,
Mission, Texas, and Judith Slater,
Pratt; a sister, Eleanor Weathers,
Arcata, Calif.; 13 grandchildren;

step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 4
p.m. Monday in the Great Bend
Cemetery, Great Bend, the Rev.

undersigned has filed her petition
in the probate court of Erie
County, Ohio, alleging that said
Mary Colgrove died intestate on or
about March 9. 1964, seized of
estate of inheritance.
The purpose of the petition is that
the court determine the heirs and
devisees of said deceased and their
respective interest in said estate.
Defendants named above are further
notified that said oause is case
No.6624 and that they are required
to answer on or before six (6) weeks
from the first publication of this

ADAM HOFFMAN
BERLIN HEIGHTS--Adam Hoffman,
79, retired farmer, died this
morning in his home, Darrow
Rd. He was a member of the
Mitiwanga Evangelical and
Reformed Church.
Mr. Hoffman and his wife Emma,
who survives, celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary in
1952. Other survivors are
three sons, Nelson, Gilbert
and Charles all of R.D. Huron,
two daughters, Mrs. Ivan Smith
Huron and Mrs. Mary Colgrove
Aurora, Ark.; 10 grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren and a
brother, Henry Ceylon.
The Rev Samuel Matzke Pastor of
the Mitiwanga E and R Church
will officiate at Funeral
serivces Saturday at 2 p.m. in
the Hinman Funeral Home. Burial
will be in Peak's Cemetery,
Ceylon.
Friends will be received at the
funeral home after 7 p.m.
tomorrow.
