Three Injured In Exiting Runaway
Mrs. Susie Colegrove and three
year old daughter Hazel Marie and
Miss Evelyn Wheile of near South
Webster had a narrow escape from
being thrown down a fifty foot bank
into the Little Scioto river several
days ago when the horse Mrs. Colegrove
was driving ram away on Miller's
hill near South Webster.
The two women and child luckily
escaped with minnr bruises although
Mrs. Colegrove and baby were caught
under the buggy when it. lodged
against a tree 20 feet, down the steep
bank.
Mrs. Colegrove is the wife of
Thomas Colegrove and she invited
Miss Whelie to go to the village with
her. They had just left. the Colegrove
home a few minutes when the
harness broke and caused the horse
to run away. The mud on the Miller
hill is very narrow and when the
horse run away it cause the buggy
to collide with one occupied by Burl
Parks and his cousin Edna Boyer,
these two being eye witnesses to the
turning over of the buggy and its
fall down the bank towards the river.
Miss Whelie was thrown out when
the buggy turned over the first time.
The witnesses claim the buggy
turned over twice before It lodged
against a tree, the horse remaining
hitched to the buggy.
Mrs. Colegrove and baby were caught
undert the overturned buggy and it
was with difficulty that they were
removed back to the road. Mrs.
Colegrove and bavy and Miss. Whelie
escaped with a few scratches and
bruises.
The top of the buggy was badly
damaged and the horse was slightly
injured. Persons who visited the
seene of the accident say that the
tree is all that saved the buggy,
horse and Mrs. Colegrove and baby
from going into the river and that
they were very fortunate in
escaping with such minor injuries.

HAS FILED SUIT
FOR A DIVORCE
-------
Through his attorney Joseph
T. Micklelhwait, Tuesday,
Peleg W. Colegrove instituted
his dovorce suit against Ella
Colegrove, whose sensational
disappearance was reported in
Saturday's Times.
She is the woman who vamoosed
after getting $150 out of the
family strong box, ostensibly
to buy a cow from a neighbor.
Her present whereabouts are
unknown but Colegrove has an
idea she is in Covington, Ky.
In his petition Colegrove al-
leges cruelty and drunkenness.
He says that she frequently
sursed him and applied vile
epithets to him. This abuse,
he says she also extended to
his minor children by a former
wife. He says after their
marriage a year ago, his wife
boasted that she had frequently
gotten drunk. Colegrove asserts
that "he was glad the county
voted dry" because it made it
hard for her to get liquor.
The petition sets out the $150
get away which the defendant is
alleged to have made. Also
that she was prone to make light
of Colegrove's religion. He
asserts that he always tried to
conduct himself as a good
christian man.
The defendants maiden name was
Abbott and she was 36 years old
when married to plaintiff at
New Boston last March.
Colegrove is now 41 and follows
the occupation of a farmer and
teamster.
