Terry Colegrove
Two Sentenced to Reformatory and
One to Penitentiary
Raymond Colegrove, 20, of Lucasvllle.
and Willard Amick. 20, Portsmouth,
were sentenced to indeterminate
terms in the Mansfield Reformatory
by Judge H. F. Kimble in Common
Pleas court Wednesday, when
they changed their pleas from not
guity to guilty of robbing Willian
Ramoy's "Ark" confectionery, in
Wheelersburg, last Dec. 23. Lloyd
Amick, 24, jointly indieted for the
burglary, was adjudged to be guilty
by Judge Kimble following a hearing
and he was sentenced to spend three
years In the penitentiary. The latter
attempted to prove an alibi, and took
the stand in his own defense to state

could not have participated in the
robbery. Amick made this move in the
face of the statement of Colegrove,
when called to the stand by the state,
that the Amick brothers took part with
him in the robbery and the testimony

arrest. Attorney Walter L. Dickey
appenred for the trio and procecutor
Russell K McCurdy for the state.

William R. Turner
William Ralph Turner, 54, of
3644 Gallia street. New Boston,
an employe for 18 years of the
Gilbert Grocery Co., died at '10
a. m. today at his home. In January
of 1941, Mr. Turner underwent
& major operation. He had
not been in the best of health
since.
He was born June 16, 1888, at
Slocum Station, a son of William
and Caroline Knore Turner. He
was a member of the Gephart
Methodist church, and since re-
siding in New Boston, attended
the Methodist church there.
On March 15, 1916, he married
Edith Colegrove, who survives.
He also leaves three children William
Frank Turner of New Boston,
Wells Colegrove Turner and
Jeanetta Turner at home; three
brothers, Henry Turner of South
Webster pike, Charles Turner of
Allentown, Frank Turner of Boston,
Mass., Noah Turner of Mar-
rion, and a sister, Mrs. Lena Fritz
of Wheelersburg.
Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. Monday at New Boston
Methodist church, with Rev.
Guy Tucker officiating. Burial
will be in Memoral Park cemetery
under the direction of Windel-
Howland, The body is at the
residence.

Floyd Colegrove, a young boy of
Wheelersburg, was locked up in the
county jail Sunday in default of $200
bond. The boy was arrested on the
oath of R.R. Kennedy, who charged
him with breaking into his, Kennedy's,
residence. Saturday and stealing a sum
of money between $3 and $5. The boy
was arraigned before 'Squire Hacquard,
who recoguized him to the higher
courts.

COLEGROVE.
B. F. Colegrove, of Sciotoviile, died
at his home in that village this noon
aged 71 years. He leaves a widow
three sons and one daughter. The
funeral will be held Monday from the
last residence, interment at Wheelers-
burg.

The body of Airman 1.C. Russell
Lee Colegrove, killed in a motor
vehicle accident in Korea July
23, will arrive Wednesday afternoon,
relatives learned today.
Funeral services will be conducted
Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sciotodale
Free Will Baptist Church with Rev.
Clarence Conway officiating. Burial
will be in Memorial Park Cemetery
under direction of Gill Funeral
Home. The body will remain
at the funeral home until the funeral
hour.
Airman Colegrove was born May
29, 1930, at Sciotoville, a son of
Forest S. and Laura Ison Colegrove,
who survive.
He attended Wheelersburg elementary
schools and was graduated
from Wheelersburg High School
in 1948. He later attended Ohio
University Portsmouth Branch
two years.
In high school he was active in
athletics, serving as captain of the
basketball team, and was an out-
standing student.
He entered the air Force in De-
cember 1950, priot to which he was
employed as a clerk by the Norfolk
& Western railway.
Airman Colegrove was married
June 18 1951, to Juanita Staggs of
Wheelersburg. One son, Stanley
Russell survives.
Also surviving are two brothers,
Forest Jy. and Philip, and two
sisters, Helen Delores and Dorothy.
