'Squire Hall filed a transcript in
the case of Ohio vs. Joseph Colegrove,
who is accused of neglecting to provide
for an illegitimate child, Kendall
Lentz. Complaint was made by
John Lentz. Colegrove was ordered
by the common pleas court April
22d 1898, to provide for the child.
Defendant was sent to jail September
17th, in default of $300 bond.

Mary Lintz vs. Joseph Colegrove
and Bertha Colegrove; petition to
recover on a judgment of three
hunderd dollars. Said judgment was
in a proceeding in bastardy for
a child begotten Septemebr 1st,
1896, and was born May 28, 1897.
To avoid the payment of this
judgment the defendant
conveyed certain properties
to Bertha Colegrove. The plaintiff
now brings action to have this conveyance
declared null and void and
made subject to the payment of this
judgment.

Judge Milner convened common
pleas court this morning,taking
up the case of Mary Lintz against
Joseph, and Bertha Colegrove. This
suit was brought to set aside the
transfer of certain lands from Joseph
to Bertha Colegrove. Mary Lintz
was granted a judgment against
Joseph Colegrove in a bastardy suit,
amounting to $300, several months
ago, and about this time a deed was
given to Bertha Colegrove by Joseph
Colegrove for certain lands. This
the plaintiff now claims was to
evade this judgment.

The Binghampton Republican states that
G. L. Colegrove, of the town of Union, in
that county, recently purchased in Troopsburg,
Steuben co., N. Y., 2000 acres of land
at $10 an acre, and has since fortunately discovered
on his new possessions, Coal and
Iron Mines and plaster richer than that of
Cayuga. He receives from the state $5000
bounty, as the first discoverer of Coal in
New York. The mines seem to be excollent

accidentally shot by his friend, Bert
Judd on Friday afernoon, died at 4
o'clock- Sunday morning Young
Judds' mental condition is such that
the doctors are obliged to keep him
under the influence of opiates for
fear his mind may give way or that
he may do himself injury. The
funeral will be held at the residence
on Euclid street at 3 30 o'clock Wednesday
afternoon.

ville widow to marry Colgrove. He

MRS. COLGROVE'S DEATH

GARRETT, Ind., Feb. 28 -- Special --
Mrs. C. A. Colgrove, wife of a Proma-
ment Baltimore & Ohio engineer, died
after an operation in a Chicago hospital
today. She was 44 years of age. The
remains will be interred here.

Services for Mrs. Ella Colgrove
Green, native of Furnessville who
died Sunday in the home of her
daughter with whom she had been
living in Three Lakes, Wis., will be
held at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday In
Gary.
The decedent is survived by her
husband, Edward, seven children
a sister, Mrs. Lucille Anderson of
Michigan City, and a niece, Mrs
Hilmcr Charlson of Chesterton.
The body was brought today to
the Geisen Funeral Home in Gary
where services will be held at 1:30
p. m. Wednesday, Burial will be In
Ross, Ind., cemetery.

COLGROVE BOUND OVER.
ALLIANCE, Neb. (UP). Dick
Colgrove, 23, Box Butte county,
former inmate of Nebraska penitentiary,
pleaded guilty to charges
of grand larceny, auto theft and
burglary, and was bound over to
district court. Colgrove broke into
the Newberry Hardware store,
taking guns worth $60, and later
held up the store clerk with one
of the weapons, it is charged. He
made his escape in a car belonging
to Mrs. Ray Tierney, Alliance, but
was captured at Chadron.

Stocks and bonds, including
$280,375 worth of U. S. war bonds,
comprised the bulk of the $1,038,-
029.97 estate of D. J. Walker, owner
of Walker Remedy Co., according
to figures compiled in a preliminary
inheritance report filed
Tuesday afternoon in the office of
Clerk of District Court, Ira W.
Blough.
Mr. Walker died here May 2,
1945, at the age of 76.
Fifteen heirs are named as beneficiaries
in the estate, one of the
largest to be filed m the history
of Black Hawk county.
Son Is Trustee.
Grace H. Walker, widow, 504
Maryland avenue, and a son, Lowell
J. Walker, 35, of 216 Lovejoy avenue,
v/ho is also named a trustee,
are the principal heirs.
A nephew, Glen A. Porter, 909
West Third street, and Mrs. Leila
M. Gallup, 315 Reber avenue, a
stenographer at the Walker Remedy
Co., are the only other Waterloo
beneficiaries listed.
Non-resident heirs include a deceased
sister, Mrs. Laura Walker
Colgrove; seven nephews, Herbert
W. Porter and Waldo S. Walker of
Fayette, la.; A. L. Porter of Dss
JVToines; LoSade L. Walker of Pasadena,
Cal.; F. P. Walker of Clear
Lake; Francis E. Colgrove of Minneapolis,
Minn., and Chester W.
Colgrove of Hollywood, Cal.
Three nieces, Mrs. Laura Colgrove

Ruth Walker Miller of Kalispell,
Mont, and Mrs. Hazel M. O'Brien

list of heirs.
Real Estate $96,000.
Detailed figures in the inventory,
prepared by Pike, Sias, and Butter,
revealed real estate listings
amounting to $96,066.
Of the grand total of $566,845.16
in stocks and bonds, $80,735 represented
primary road refunding
bonds in Black Hawk and seven
other counties.
The listings, accompanied by accumulating
interest coupons and
their maturity dates, showed a total
of 536,480 primary road refunding
bonds in Black Hawk county, and
a balance of 844,255 in Bremer, Buchanan,
Butler, Floyd, Grundy,
Linn, and Winneshiek counties.
War Bonds.
Also shown in the stock and
bonds listings were U. S. war
bonds totaling $280,375.00; U, S. tax
certificates aggregating $35,421.00;
IT. S. postal savings bonds maturing
in July, 1955, with accrued interest,
$25,125.
Other investments listed were
3,000 shares of Rath Packing Co.
stock, valued at $90,000; 100 shares
of Iowa Public Service Co. stock,
worth $10,650; 15 shares of National
Bank of Waterloo stock, $3,000;
69 shares of Waterloo Savings bank
stock, $13,800.00, and 50 shares of
preferred and common capital in
the Royer Mfg. Co., at Janesville,
la., $1,250.00.
New York Municipal Holdings.
Holdings of city of New York
municipal bonds totaled $16,922.50,
while Waverly school bonds were
evaluated at $5,000.
Accrued interest is not included
in certain of the above listings, but
is estimated in the grand total of
$566,845.16 in stocks and bonds
shown in the inventory.
Notes and mortgages to individuals
totaled $55,23297.
A common bank account with his
wife, Grace, was estimated at
$36,060.74, while cash in the bank
was listed at $22,188.38.
Walker Remedy Interest.
The balance of the estate was
comprised of an undivided twothirds
interest in the Walker Remedy
Co., a co-partnership, amounting
to $242,61442, and household
goods, livestock, jewelry, farm machinery
and grain, making a grand
total of $261,636.72.
In addition to the interest in
Walker Remedy Co, livestock,
grain and feed on a Black Hawk
county farm were valued at $10 -
234 50.
Among other larger listings were
two Cadillac automobiles, $3,845;
household furniture and equipment,
$1,25000; rugs and carpeting,
$1,000; and two diamond rings, $600,
including $400 estimated value on
an undivided one-half interest in
a three-carat off-color diamond.
Indebtedness was estimated at
$50,000.

at 10 A.M. Saturday in St-
Patrtck's Church. The Rev. John
P. O'Berne, pastor, performed the
ceremony._
The bride was attended by her
sister, Miss Dorothy Colgrove
as maid of honor. Bridesbaids
were Miss. Winifred Colgrove,
another sister of the bride; Miss
Edith Struble, Miss Philomena
Marcuccilli, sister of the bride-
groom, all of Seneca Falls, and
Mrs. Gail Patte, sister of the
bridegroom, of Philadelphia, Pa.
Patrick Marcuccilli was his
brothers best man. Ushers were
Gail Patte of Philadelphia. Anthony
Gallma of Seneca Falls and Angelo
Bonefilea and Patrick Patte of
Philadelphia.
A breakfast at the home of the
bride's parents followed the
ceremony and later there was a
dinner and reception at the
Hotel Gould. On their return
from a trip to Canada the couple
will live at 42 Clinton St.
