Corry Journal: The funeral for
the late John I. Colegrove was
held Thursday afternoon. Rev.
Paul F. Baur officiated at the
rites at the Bracken-Keating
Funeral home at 2 o'clock and
relatives and friends serving as
bearers were Gerald and
Franklin Parsons, Matthew
Stormes, Paul Meerdink, Frank
Frost and A.F. Dahlstrand.
Interment was made in the family
plot in the Pine grove Cemetery.
Here from away for the service

Mrs. Colegrove Died
Wednesday Morning

Mrs. Anna Colegrove, relict of
the late Peleg Colegrove, passed
to her eternal reward at the home
of her daughter, Mrs Hiram Keatley,
572 Grant Street at 2:30 Wednesday
morning. She was stricken with
paralysis about nine weeks ago and
never recovered from the stroke.
She was 77 years of age.
Mrs. Colegrove was a very esti-
mable lady and was well liked and
honored by all. She has made her
home with her daughter, Mrs. Keatly
since the death of her husband about
ten years ago.
She is survived by three children,
Mesdames H. H. Sibley and Sarah
Chapman both of Columbus, Mrs.
Hiram Chapman Keatly at whose
home she passed away, and a grand-son
Joseph Colegrove of whom will be
present for the funeral Mrs. Chapman
was at her bedside when she passed
away and Mrs. Sibley and the grand-son
will arrive Thursday.
The funeral services will be conducted at
the home of Mr. Keatly, 572 Grant street,
Thursday evening at 7:30 and the remains
will be taken to Glendale church near
Harrisonville, Friday morning where
services will be held and interment made
in the cermetery there by the side of her
husband. Rev. Atkinson will have charge
of the services.

A pretty wedding took place at |
9 o'clock this morning in St. Mary
ofthe Angels church when Miss
Harriet Leona Colegrove, younger
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L.
Colegrove, of South Eighth street
became the bride of John Bernard
King, son of Mr. and Mra. P. S.
King, of Pittsburgh. The Very
Rev. Edward J. Rengel, pastor,
performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of
moonlight brocaded chiffon and
carried a shower bouquet of sun
burst roses.
Mrs. B. M. Hanafin of New|
York, was matron of honor. Mrs. ;
Hanafin was attired in a gown of
blonde georgette and carried an
arm bouquet of Ophelia roses. Au-
gust J. Ober, of Buffalo, a class-
mate of Mr. King, was his at-
tendant.
Immediately following the cere-
mony, a wedding breakfast was
served at the home of the bride's
parents to the immediate families,
Covers were for ten at the bride's
table which was attractively j
adorned with Columbia rose buds
and centered with a wedding
cake.
Mr. and Mrs. King left on a
wedding trip to include New
York, Philadelphia and other
points and upon their return will
reside at 122 South Eighth street.
The bride is a graduate of the
Olean High school and Rochester
Business Institute and for the
last, six years has been employed
at the Olean Trust Company. The
bridegroom is a graduate of Carnegie
Institute of Technolgy and also attended
Dequesne University. He has been
employed at the Exide Service Station
in this City for the last two years.
Mrs. King was honored guest at the
following social functions: announcement
party by her mother, Mrs. A. L.
Colegrove; bridge luncheon by Mrs.
John F. Geise; Bridge by Mrs. Ralph
J. Allen and Mrs. Mark Hannon; bridge
by the Misses Ann and Gertrude Collins;
bridge bu Miss Mabel Spindler; bridge
by Mrs. Leos B. McCarthy; bridge by
Misses Marjorie and Marion Hannifan;
bridge by Miss Neva Jessop, Mrs. Ralph

native of Charleston, a daughter

of talisman rosebuds and black ac-
cessories. She was attended by her
cousin, Mrs. Robert Maiorino of
Jersey City, who wore a pink dress
with a corsage of pink and white
sweet peas and navy blue accessories.
The best man was Robert
Colegrove of Ithaca, brother of the
bridegroom. The home was decorated
with dogwood and white snapdragons.
A reception for forty relatives
and friends was held at Sleepy
Valley Inn. near Warwick.
After a two week's tour of the New
England States and Canada, the
couple wfll make their home at
Geneva.
The bride was graduated from
Warwick High School and attended
Ithaca College. The Bridegroom at-
tended the Mt. Herman Preparatory
School and Ithaca College. He will
be graduated from Hobart College
in Febuary. He was discharged
from the Navel Reserve three weeks
ago, as an ensign.

Kansas City Star
Reporter Leaves for
Metropolitan Work.
Jim Colegrove, a reporter-photographer
with The Constitution-
Tribune for the last three and a
half years, has resigned to take a
similar job with The Kansas City
Times, the morning edition of The
Kansas City Star.
Tomorrow will be Colegrove's last
day with this newspaper. He will
begin his new work Monday afternoon.
Mrs. Colegrove and daughter,
Kimberly, will remain in Chillicothe
until housing is found in Kansas
City. He came here in April of
1947 from The News in Cleveland,
Ohio.

has been made of the marriage of
Miss Anna Belle Loveland, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Loveland of
Mansfield, Pa., nad Max Leslie
Colegrove of Shinglehouse. The
ceremony was performed at
three o'clock Sunday August 14 in
the Methodist Chirch at Mansfield
which was attractively decorated
with garden flowers and ferns. The
rec. Charles N. Oudelark, pastor
of the church, read the nuptial vows
using the ring ceremony.
The bride was lovely in a floor-length
gown of blue silk organdy with a
picture hat in pin and she carried
an arm bouquet of calla lithes.
Her matron of honor, Mrs. Luther
Kane of Bellefonte, Pa., wore a
floor-length pink organdy frock
with a blue turban and carried
pink roses.
Ted Colegrove of Shinglehouse,
brother of the groom acted as
best man. The ushers were Luther
Kane of Bellefonte, Robert
Hendricks of Mansfield, Keith Corwin
and Frank Bixby of Shinglehouse.
Preceding the ceremony, Mrs.
Stephen Beach of Mansfield played a
short program of piano music and
W. T. Palmer and Frank Freeborn of
Shinglehouse, sang "I Love You Truly"
and "O, Promise Me", accompanied by
Mrs. W. T. Palmer. For the wedding
march Mrs. Beach offered Wagner's
"Wedding March".
One hundred guests attended a reception
given in the social room of the church
following the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs.
Colegrove are on a trip to Washington,
D.C. and will later reside at Sharon
Center in the Dodge residence.
Mrs. Colegrove is a graduate of
Mansfield High School and Mansfield
State Teachers' College, and for the
past year she taught in the second
grade in the Shinglehouse public
Schools.
Mr. Colegrove is a graduate of the
Shinglehouse High School and is
employed at the Atlantic Service
Station here.
Among those present at the wedding
were a large number of the members
of the Methodist Church here, where
Mr. Colegrove is a Sunday School
superintendent and Mrs. Colegrove
a Sunday School teacher.

Dawn M. Colegrove
Dawn Michele Colegrove, 39, of Bunker Hill, went to be with the Lord on
Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, in Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1967, in Baltimore, Md., she is the daughter of Dawn Litz
Miller, of Bunker Hill and the late Anthony William Miller.
She was a supervisor at the Department of Defense, Ft. Meade, Md., and a
member of the New Life Community Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Terry Lee
Colegrove; and her children, Michael Anthony Colegrove and Amanda Michele
Colegrove, all at home; and Chris Ruckman, who she always called her second
son; her Godmother, Jo Anne Heddinger, of Frankford, Del.; and her
Godfather, Francis Miller, of Charles Town; and a number of aunts and
uncles.
She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and
Nancy Colegrove, of Mansfield, Pa.; and brothers-in-law and their spouses,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Colegrove, Mr. Randy Colegrove and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Colegrove; and grandmother-in-law, Eula Colegrove.
The family will receive friends at the Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley
Chapel in Inwood on Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the Gary
L. Kaufman Funeral Home in Elkridge, Md., with Pastor Jim Goforth
officiating. Entombment will be in the Meadowridge Cemetery in Elkridge.
The family will receive friends at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home in
Elkridge, Md., on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Lincoln Gallup
Died On Monday
Illness Fatal To Former
Local Resident
Lincoln Gallup, better known as
"Lin" Gallup to his many friends in
McKean county, died Monday morning
at Kane Community Hospital.
Mr. Gallup had been ill for several
years and suffered a stroke a short
time ago from which he never re-
covered.
He was born on March 4, 1865 of
pioneer parents, Laura Ann Colegrove
Gallup and Philetus Gallup,
on a Potato Creek farm near the
old Burbank school house. He is
the last of a family of six children.
The deceased is survived by his
wife, Mrs. Anna Gallup of Kane and
two sons, Delbert of Olean and Warren
of Smethport, and a niece, Mrs.
Ella Gallup Woods of Sharpsville,
Pa.
The funeral services were held a
the Smethport Baptist church a
2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon
Rev. John A. Taylor, pastor, officiat-
ed.
Interment was made in the family
plot in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Harry Comes
Lawrence Haven, Howard Boyer and
Alfred Gallup.

Spanish-American War Veteran Dies Early Saturday
Flatwoods--Sylvester Colegrove, 78, of Flatwoods, died at 12:25 a.m.
Saturday at his home, after an extended illness. He was a retired C. & O.
carman and retired in 1944, after thirty years of service. He was a
Spanish - American War veteran.
Mr. Colegrove was born in Greenup County, November 16, 1881, a son
of the late Melvin and Zerilda Davidson Colegrove.
He served with the cavalry in the Spanish - American War, was a member
of the Pentecostal Church of Christ, Bellefonte Road, a member of the
Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.,at the Carman Funeral
Home in Flatwoods. The Rev. Charles L. Pancoast will officiate and
burial will follow in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods. The
body is at the Carman Funeral Home, where friends may call.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth England Colegrove; two sons,
Gerald Colegrove, of Wurtland, and Jess Colegrove, of Stonington, Ky.;
three daughters, Mrs. Cermillus Melvin, Stonington, Mrs. Lawrence
Burton of London, W. Va., and Mrs. Ralph Burton, of Flatwoods.

Jess Colegrove
1911-1992
Jess Colegrove, 80, of Uhlen Branch, Wurtland, died Thursday in Carter
County.
He died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Ky 7 near
Grayson.
Mr. Colegrove was born Nov. 9, 1911, in Greenup County, a son of the
late Sylvester Colegrove and Phoebe Dillow Colegrove. His stepmother,
Elizabeth England Colegrove, also preceded him in death.
He retired as a carman helper at the C & O Railroad after 30 years of
service. He was a member of Brotherhood of Maintenance of the Way
and was a World War II veteran.
Surviving are five daughters, Margaret Mead, Janice Gaspers, Beulah
Miller and Paula Daniels, all of Wurtland, and Joyce Hale of Monroe,
Ohio: four sons. Larry Colegrove, Ronald Colegrove, Roger Colegrove
and John Colegrove, all of Wurtland: two sisters, Edna Burton of
London, W. Va., and Clytie Melvin of Wurtland: several grandchildren
and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Evans Funeral Home
in Raceland by the Rev. Richard Tackett. Burial will be in Melvin
Cemetery at Wurtland.
Friends may call today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
