"COWLESS" DAIRY
----------------------------
Operator Arrested--He Used Water
and Condensed Milk.
Seattle, July 24.--The charge of operating
a "cowless" dairy has been made against
Peter Colegrove who was arrested here. It
was the practice of Colegrove to buy the
cheapest brands of condensed milk and by
the use of water and sugar of milk prepare
a mixture that sold readily for fresh milk.
He had fifty customers in the ower tenement
dictrict and not one of them complained that
there was no cream on their milk in the
mornings. When his wagon was stopped in the
street by an inspector and the milk tested the
imposter was discovered. That any others are
selling this same kind of milk
by being made the subject of a thorough
investication among the small milk dealers.

Terry, thanks for all your hard work on these. Doesn't it
seem strange, the ones in some kind of trouble all seem to
to be spelled Colgrove!!!! May that's the answer???
Colgrove is an alias for Colegrove !! Ha !! Garry
