were held at 2 p.m. Friday at
the Gallup Funeral Home for
Mrs. Mary Agnes Nunn, 84, of
Port Allegany RD 1, who died
Tuesday night at the Port Allegany
Community Hospital. She
had been in ill health for some
time.
The Rev. Wilbur L. Jacocks of
the Free Methodist Church
officiated and burial took place
in Grimes Cemetery.
Mrs. Nunn was born Nov. 6,
1880, in Port Allegany, the
daughter of the late Thomas and
Estella Colegrove. Her husband,
Allen Nunn, died some time ago.
She was a member of the Free
Methodist Church here.
Surviving her are a son,
Charles R. Nunn, Port Allegany;
13 grandchildren, and a sister,
Mrs. Ethel Huff, Coudersport.

Dies In Ridgeway
William H. Colegrove of 128
East Ave. Ridgeway, a former
faculty member of the Altoona
and D------ centers of the
Pennsylvania State University,
dies at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the
Elk Coounty General Hospital, he
was 66.
Mr. Colegrove who had been in ill
health for the past nine months
was a native of Smethport, but
had lived in Ridgeway since 1916.
He was a veteran of World War I,
servinf as a pilot for the Navy.
He was an electrical and
mechanical engineer faculty member
at the campuses.
He was a member of the Trinity
Methodist Church, past president
of the Ridgeway Town Council,
Ridgeway Elks Lodge, 40 -- -
and Americaon Legion. He was also
a past district commisioner for
the Legion and was active in
Boy Scout work.
Surviving are his wife Mary, two
daughters, Mrs. Donald B Su-------
of York and Mrs. Paul L. Neeley of
Reading; a son William of Hyatesville,
Md., a sister Miss. Martha Colegrove
of Smethport, four grandchildren
and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held today
(Thursday) at a Ridgeway funeral
home. Burial will be in
Thayer Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Alma Colegrove Paris, 94,
of Milterton, RD 1 died Monday
morning, August 15, 1960. She
was the widow of Byron Paris.
Mrs. Paris was born February
13, 1866 in Middlebury.
She is survived by four sons,
E. G. Paris of Wellsboro; C. E.
and Ray Paris of Millerton, RD 1
and Vern of Corning, New York;
21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren
and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was a member of the Mitchell
Mills Grange at Alder Run.
Funeral services will be conducted
today at 2 p.m. in the
Alder Run Baptist Church, the
Rev. Orey Bolt officiating. Burial

Dr. Benjamin Colegrove
Succumbs in Hospital
Dr. Benjamin F. Colegrove. 71,
of 753 James St. died yesterday
in Onondaga General Hospital.
He had suffered a heart ailment.
Dr. Colegrove, a native of
Horseheads. had been a resident
of this city since 1927. He was a
graduate of Syracuse University
and did post graduate study at
Massachusetts General Hospital,
Boston, Mass. He was appointed
superintendent and chief surgeon
of Onondaga General Hospital in
January 1938. His resigned from
the post in September of 1956 for
reasons of ill health.
A veteran,of World War I. he
served 22 months as commanding
officer of a 300-bed hospital at
St. Amend, Mt. Rond, France,
leaving the Army with a rank of.
lieutenant colonel.
Dr. Colegrove was son of Dr.
Walter Colegrove of Elmira, who
was a widely known diagnostician.
He maintained offices in the
State Tower Building and at the
time of hit death he was a member
of the board of directors of
Onondaga General Hospital.
Dr. Colcgroyt was a member
of the Onondaga County Medical
Society, the New York State Medical
Society and the American
Medical Assn.
He also.belonged to Phi Beta
Pi, medical fraternity; Kono-
sioni Lodge 950, F&AM; the Elks,
the Corning Consistory, Scottish
Rites Bodies, the Veterans of For-
eign Wars and the Cavalry Club.
He also served as post surgeon for
American Legion Post 41.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Dorothy F. Colegrove; a daughter,
Mrs. Charles S. Marvin; a grand-
daughter and a nephew.
Servinces will be at 2 p.m. Monday
at the Fairchild and Meech Funeral
Chapel, the Rev. Harold S. Swales
officiating. Burial will be in
Valley Cemetery. Friends may
call from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow
and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Saturday
Roy C. Colegrove, 76, of Smeth-
port, died last Thursday morning
after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Colegrove who was born in
the village of Colegrove, named
in honor of the prominent McKean
County pioneer family, had been
a resident of Smethport for 70
years. He had been employed at
Hull's Hotel for a long period of
time prior to his final illness.
His father Conrade Alpha W.
Colegrove Sr., was a member of
the famous Civil War Bucktail
Regiment.
Surviving are a half-brother,
Alpha Colegrove, in Korea with
the U.S. Army; a half-sister, Mrs.
George Richards, Smethport; three
nephews and three nieces.
The Rev. Wilber C. Barber, pastor
of the Swedish Free Christian
Evangelical Church, conducted the
funeral service Saturday afternoon
in the Fry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Robert Curran,
Chester Elmer, Norman Hull Jr.
and Lloyd Kohn.
Interment was in Norwich Twp.
Cemetery at Colegrove.

73, of Otego RD 1,. died Tuesday,
October 16, in Fox Hospital, One-
onia, after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2
p.m., Thursday, October 18, at the
Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta.
The Rev. Clarence Jones, pastor of
Otego Christian Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Vision
Cemetery.
Mr. Colegrove was born July 11,
1889, in Laurens, a son of Charles
and Matie (Sullivan) Colegrove.
He married Irene Steenrod.
Mr. Colegrove was a farmer and
lived most of his life in the Town
of Otego.
He is survived by his wife, two
sons, Le Roy, Otego RD 1; and
Frederick, Keysville RD 2; two
daughters, Mrs. Charles Whyles,
Waterbury, Conn.; and Mrs. Myrtle
Ward, Rochester; two foster
daughters, Mrs. Virginia Van Court
and Miss Phillis Wormsley, Otego
RD 1; 13 grandchildren, one aunt,
three nieces and a nephew.
Friends may call at the funeral
home at their convenience.
The family will be in attendance
from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Ross Colegrove of 342 S.
Prospect St.
The bride wore a street-length
dress of turquoise chiffon with
which she combined turquoise
and white accessories and a corsage
of white carnations. Serving
as her sister's matron of honor
was Mrs. Andrew Irvine, who was
gowned in a pink and white sheer
dress with which she combined
pink and white accessories accented
by a pink carnation corsage.
John Colegrove served as his
brother's best man.
A reception was held at the
church educational unit with Mrs.
Richard Clevenger of Akron, sister
of the bridegroom. Mrs. Donald
Gorenflo and Mrs. Russell Peterson
serving as hostesses.
The couple will reside at 278
Spencer St. Mr. Colegrove is
employed by the Sandusky
Fabricating and Sales Inc. of

The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was attired in a floor
length gown of Alencon lace and
taffeta. The gown was fashioned
with a lace fited bodice with long
tapered sleeves with points over
the wrists. Her sabrina neckline
was trimmed with sequins and
pearls. Lace panels adorned the
full flowing skirt with chapel
train, worn over a hoop. Her only
jewelry was a single strand of
pearls. Her fingertip four-tiered
veil was attached to a double crown
of seed pearls She carried a colonial
bouquet of white carnations
and roses.
Miss Jane Campbell, sister of
the bride was the maid-of-honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Jean Laughner
and Miss Nancy Bower. Miss
Florence Ann Campbell also a
sister of the bride was flower girl
and Frank Gee, cousin of the
groom of Wellsboro was ringbearer.
Carl Colegrove served as best
man for his brother and ushers
were Elwin Smith of Tioga, Pa.,
and James Gee, cousin of the
groom of Wellsboro.
Following the ceremony, a reception
for over 200 friends and
relatives was held in the church
rooms.
The couple both graduated from
the Elkland High School Mr Colegrove
is employed at the Ingersoll-
Rand Plant at Painted Post.
Upon their return from a wed-
ding. trip; through northern New
York State, the couple will reside
at their newly furnished home at
Nelson RD.

Mishap Kills Lincoln Sailor
NORFOLK. Va.. March 30 (ap)
The Navy today identified Donald,
Ray Colegrove, fireman 19 as the
enlisted man who was fatally in-
jured in a shipboard accident at
the Little Creek Amphibious Base
yesterday.
He is a native of Cuzzie, Lincoln
County, W. Va., and entered the
Navy at Ashland, Ky., in February,
1855. He is survived by his father,
George W. Colegrove, of the West
Virginia address.
Colegrove was fatally injured
when struck by a cable that had
been loosed when a fixed block on
a boat davit pulled free. The accident
occurred aboard the amphibious
ship Burleson at about 2:15 p.m.

Car Thief Gets 3 Yrs.
Alvin Colgrove, 28, of Windham
Center, Pa., received a 3-year
sentence to the federal penitentiary
at Atlanta today in U. S.
District Court on his plea of guilty
to interstate car theft.
The young man told investigating
officers that since 1944 he has
been in 23 jails and prisons, has
been a free man a total of only
18 months, and has escaped jail
"7 or 8 times".
He escaped from a deputy U.
s. marshal last year after his
arrest on the' car theft charge,
and Judge Moore added a year to
his sentence for that offense.
