Dear Shelley
I am a Cole descendant. My Cole family is in West Virginia and while I have not researched this side of my family very much, I have heard that some of my Coles came from New York. I would appreciate a copy of the pic you have. hobbsr2002(a)hotmail.com Thank you so much! My spouse has a great grandfather who was named Gabriel Cole. He was born on March 22, 1831 somewhere near Painted Post, NY. He had 3 younger brothers and a sister. Gabriel's parents were William W. Cole (b: about 1806) and Henrietta Wheeler (b: about 1807). Earlier than that we do not have any information. One major point that I should mention is that her great grandfather Gabriel was awarded the Medal Of Honor during the Civil War. We would appreciate any assistance with learning more about his ancestry.
Thank you.
Hi, I am a member of the Cole family in Georgia and would love to have the photograph if no closer relative makes a claim. I love old photographs and rescued one some years ago which turned out to be an actual relative of one of my other families. So, you never know. Let me know what the costs would be. Thanks J.M. I've "rescued" an old photograph which is identified only as "Miss COLE".
The photograph was taken at the Hinckley Studio in Geneva, New York sometime
in the 1870's or 1880's with the woman in the photograph appearing to be in
her 50's or 60's at the time. In addition to her name, someone has also
written "a friend of the MARY'S" on the back of the photograph. I am hoping
to locate someone from the COLE Family so that this wonderful old treasure
can be returned to its rightful place with family.
If you are a member of the family, or know someone who might be, please
contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
