Hey all -
I'm trying to locate anyone researching the ancestors and descendants of
Jacob and Winnifred (THOMPSON) COLE. Jacob was b. 16 Nov 1767 and died 21
Nov 1847 in Pike Co., GA. Winnifred was b. 13 Oct 1767 and died 12 Jul 1854
in Pike Co., GA. They lived in the Kershaw Co., SC area, as well as Monroe
Co., GA. They had three children: William, Henry and Nancy.
I am a descendant of their son William COLE who married Susanna GARDNER and
when doing some surfing today, found his listed in a database as William
Jessy COLE, which middle name I've never seen before. I'm wondering if
someone can tell me where that came from?
I know some people were looking into Winnifred's possible Welsh ancestry and
I'd love to get caught up with that.
Anyway, if anyone is researching this family, could you please contact me?
I'd love to hear from you and share information!
Thanks,
Mary Kathryn Kozy

Judy,
I think the reunion you are interested in is my family but it is
Holland-Crabtree-Rasor at Montauk State Park, Mo & it will be in late
July. My Mom has a letter with the date on it & I'll have to check it
out.
The Coles, Hollands, Crabtrees & Rasors are all connected & I'm
related to all of them. Let me know who your ancestors are & I can
tell you if this is your connection.

Hi Arden
If you find anything let me know. I know William is a common Name. I don't have a clue as to who James D. Cole's parents were. I have not proof but some say his father's name may have been George COLE.
Take care.

Dear Joy,
William Cole is such a common name, 1000's of them. This is becoming a real
challenge. I will get his pension records from the Civil War and hopefully
that will give me more to go on. I will keep your info on file and who
knows, could be a link. Thank you so much for responding.

Don't know where George was born (haven't traced this side of the family
yet). but their son William Woodruff Tunbridge was married in Utah 16 May
1868 and d 25 Jul 1898 at Levan, Utah. His wife was Alice Ophelia Shepard. I
have no other information.

My husbands grandfather was George Washingon Cole married to Eliz
Wainwright. George W Cole's grandfather was James F Cole b 1818 married to
Mary Eliz Rasor. Marys greatgrand father was George Adam Rauser immigrated
from Germany aboard the ship " Mary & Sarah" on his way to America. The date
of his arrival was given as 10-26-1754. His name on the ships records was
shown as Geo. Adam Reiser, Geog Adam Rayser & Gorg Adam Rauser In the
intervening year, George had his last name shortened to Rasor or Rosor and
married Margaretha Butlinger in Philadelphia 05-06-1755.George Razor name
is found on the Sussex Co., Newton twp, NJ tax list in 1774. They moved to
Virginia and purchased 100 acres of land in the Robinson River area of
Culpeper Co now Madison Co. Mary Eliz "Betsy" Rasor was the daughter of
George Rasor son of Peter Rasor & Frances Deer. About 1794 they moved to the
Abbeville district of South Carolina. From here ,we believe the Razors went
to Indiana where they
became acquainted with the Coles. Mary Eliz "Betsy" Rasor married James F
Cole in Indiana 09-15-1840. In 1840 they moved to Missouri and was on the
1850 census in Shannon County Mo.
Where is this Montouk State Park located? Thanks Judy
