I have a Nathan R. Cole in my tree that was living in Iowa before the civil
war and died during the war in Louisiana. Is this the same as your Nathaniel
?

I eliminated Nathaniel from the James Cole of Plymouth line in 1999 based on
an article about James2 Cole in TAG, Oct 1992. I think we communicated about
it then. No evidence has surfaced that has changed anyone's mind--that I
know of. I didn't do any further research on Nathaniel.

Did you ever find any family connection with Nathaniel Cole, once tagged as
being son of James?
OR did you ever find any connection between this Nathaniel and Job?
Noting that he had children named Job and Rebecca.
Neverending search.

I do not show an Elizabeth or any name variation as a child of Oliver Mason
and Martha Cole. They had 8 children recorded in VR Swansea: Martha, Peleg,
Simeon, Oliver, Benjamin, Isaac, Sarah, and Amy/Ann.

I was looking at wrong side of family. The Martha Cole who married Oliver
Mason would have been mother of Elizabeth or Betsy Mason who married Philip
Terry. So now I'm back to looking to see who the Constant grandparent of
Philip could be. I wonder if maybe that could be a misprint and it should be
Constance. But if so, I'm back to Constance who. Thanks for all who helped.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I goofed on the initials when I
sent the email. I did get to the site ok, but when I tried to get info on
the
Swansea site, I would get an error message. Then would try to contact them
and it would come back as not accepted. I think maybe it's my server
problem. Again my thanks. M.E.

Martha4 Cole (Ebenezer3, Hugh2, James1) is descended from James Cole of
Plymouth, MA. I could not find any Hoskins or Haskins in this line during this
time period.

Is this the Washington County Rhode Island, or the Plymouth, Massachusetts
Cole line or is it another one? I have two Cole lines that joined in
marriage to birth my fifth great grandmother. John Cole married Mary Cole.
Their daughter Mary Cole married William Hoskins and they had Hopestill
Haskins who married Amos King of New Salem, Hampshire County (now Franklin),
Massachusetts.

I have been trying to tract my grgrgrandmother Phoebe Terry Teets. I believe her
parents to be Philip and Elizabeth (Betsy) Mason Terry. According to an article
re the Terry family of Swansea Ma or Ri Phillip was thought to be a grandson of
Constant. However, it doesn't say Constant who. I have tried different
combinations for last name such as Constant Terry, Constance Mason etc. Since
there is a Martha Cole who married Oliver Mason in Swansea I wonder if maybe her
father was Constant and therefore maybe Phillip is his descendant.
I'd appreciate any ideas on this. Thanks. M.E.

I found a Constant Cole in the 1790 census in Rehobeth, Bristol,
Massachusetts. Also in several subsequent censuses up through 1870, also in
Rehobeth. Could be your ancestor.
Good luck,
