Mary Cole
by Daniel David Lewis Frommherz
I have been working to straighten out three mixed up messes used by
others without looking at or for any of the sources. Now that I have
them finished I am finally ready to take on another project as listed below.
I have a Mary Cole who married William (Haskins) Hoskins IV.
They were married on 29 October 1738. Their daughter Hopestill Haskins
one of about 13 kids married my fourth great grandfather Amos King in
New Salem, Hampshire County, Massachusetts in 1781. They are related to
me by my paternal grandmother's line.
According to the familysearch.org site Mary Cole is the daughter of John
Cole and Mrs. Mary Cole. They seem to indicate that the Cole family was
in Rhode Island for several generations after coming from England. I
have not worked on this line so I am not sure that what they have can be
trusted therefore I have not used their information. I realize that
what the familysearch.org folks have should only be used as clues and
that is exactly what I am doing. Has anyone been working on this line?
They also have John Cole's father as John Cole but I cannot go any
further with his son's wife as you can see without sources and more
proof of who she really is. They have her first great grandparents as
John Cole and Susanna Hutchinson who both came from England.
