Just in case someone has family in this book it might help in their research.
They have a name index, contents of the book as well as a photo of the book on the page.

Dear Shelley,
I was interested in your post about the photograph of the group of young
women. My ggggrandmother was Clara (Clarinda) Jones Cole. There is a
Clara India Cole in my more recent family tree, but she was not born
until 1905 and probably, like her ancestors, lived in the Southeast,
though I don't know that for sure. In looking for Clara Lewis (she
married a George Lewis), I was amazed at how many there were on
Ancestry.com. There were also several Clara Coles. I am Carol Cole
Renfro, with my father and his father's people being the Cole line. If
no one else claims the picture, I would like to give it a home, but
there will hopefully be others with a more direct claim than me.
Thanks for caring!
Carol

I've "rescued" an old photograph of 10 young women taken at the Myklebust
Studio in Eagle Grove, Iowa. The photograph was probably taken in the late
1890's or early 1900's with the girls all appearing to be in their teens at
the time. Each of the girls are named on the back of the photograph as
follows:
1 - Maude PLATT
2 - Roxy PARKHURST
3 - Clara COLE
4 - Bess HATHAWAY
5 - Fanny BANDY
6 - Hazel MOATS
7 - Blanch MCCURRY
8 - Alice MCCURRY
9 - Verbena SPENCER
10 - Mildred THOMAS
Based on limited research I did find some information on three of the girls.
I found Bessie Wilma HATHAWAY b. 22 June 1887 at Eagle Grove, IA to parents
Charles Bradford HATHAWAY and Hannah T. GEFFEN. I also found Fanny Belle
BANDY b. 22 Nov 1887 at Eagle Grove, IA to parents Harry BANDY and Margaret
RAY. Fanny appears to have married Fred COTTEN on 14 June 1911 in Eagle
Grove, IA.
Also located Mildred May THOMAS b. 1888 in Eagle Grove, IA to parents Robert
Woody THOMAS and Mary Ruth JONES. Mildred died on 17 Jan 1910. Based on
this I'm guessing that the photograph was taken around the turn of the
century and that all the girls are in their mid-teens at the time, likely a
school group photograph of some type.
I'm hoping to locate someone from the families so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to family. If you are a member of one of these
families or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley

I have a Rev. John D. Cole born 9 Feb 1781 Virgina and then moved to Tennessee and died in Lincoln County, Tennessee. I don't know who his parents were. Anyone have any ideas. He married Eglantine "Tiny" Leftwich. I have information on the Leftwhich line.
Thank you.
