Hi, I am interested in your Coles. I am trying to connect to the MD
Coles. I have Charles Cole b about 1761. Don't know anything about his
parents, where he was born, etc. One of his sons lists him in a census
as being born in Md. I first find him in 1794 in Grayson Co VA, where
he married Elizabeth Stoneman in 1795. Do you have such a person in
your tile.

RICHARD COLE, certified copy of Letters of Admn of his estate granted by
Ordinary of
Charleston Dist., S. C. 6/8/1800, recorded Camden Co. Mrs. Ann Cole, admx.
I don't know if this has anything to do with my Coles. I THINK this Richard
Cole is the one who married Ann Bommer, that's the way her name is listed in
a transcribed record on the internet. I think their marriage is too late
for our Jacob. I can't remember for sure. But this is a Cole record I have
not seen. Do any of you have access to Camden Co GA courthouse records?

If your Elizabeth Cole is Elizabeth Talbott Cole, b. 1818, m. Francis Waldron
Tipton in Jefferson County Ohio, please contact me at ehgill(a)cs.com
Thanks, L. Gill
I have an ancestor named Mary COLE that I'd like to see if I can find out more about.
Mary COLE and Robert BELCHER were married on 1 December 1810 in Amelia County, VA, with Francis COLE as surety (most people assume he is her father). I estimate her birth date as sometime around 1794.
There are also Francis Cole mentions in Dinwiddie County, VA (near Amelia County) such as this one: FRANCIS COLE DINWIDDIE COUNTY PRIVATE VIRGINIA MILITIA $80.00 ANNUAL ALLOWANCE $240.00 AMOUNT RECEIVED JUNE 21, 1833 PENSION STARTED AGE 83.
Can anyone out there help with this Mary Cole? Her name may be Mary Elizabeth Cole.

In several Cole land records, a Price is one of the witnesses. I recently
discovered, with Pattie Causey's help, that Joseph Thompson was the father
of Winniford Thompson Cole b. abt. 1770. Also, in the GA legislative act
which honored several people for the founding of the Walnut Fork Baptist
Church listed are Jacob Cole, Winford Cole, Joseph Thompson and an Ann
Thompson.
I went to the LDS site and found a marriage for an Ann Price and a Joseph
Thompson in Wales. Now, this is a far cry from proving it, but it at least
gives me a lead.
Also, I've noticed in my searches several a couple of Joseph Thompson
Prices. All of the above makes me think I'm on to something.

Hi,
I am looking for the family of James A.(albert) Cole. He was born 1849 in New York City. An 1850 census shows his parents may have been Jacob & Eliza Cole. James' pension records say his family moved to Lee Co., Iowa around 1860. He settled after the war in Chicago, Ill. Any information would be welcomed.
Thanks,

Hello,
I am searching for the parents of my GGGGrandfather, James Cole, born in Louisiana in ca 1782 (according to 1850 census of Avoyelles Parish Louisiana). He was married to Elizabeth Robert, daughter of Pierre Robert II and Catherine Lemoine, who were married in Avoyelles in 1795. Pierre Robert II was from the Isle of Rhe in France. James and Elizabeth Cole had children named Louis, Martin, John, Joshua and Catherine.
I have not been able to identify the parents of James Cole. James appears in the Avoyelles/Pointe Coupee area at the same time the Natchez Coles (family of James Cole and Mary Rentfroe) are leaving Natchez and moving to the Opelousas LA area but I have not been able to link him with this family after much review of the book "Cole Footprints". The only possibility in the Natchez Cole family for a father for my James Cole is William Cole, born ca 1766 and married to Susannah ???. Page 46 of Cole Footprints indicates that William Cole moved to Louisiana in the early 1800's but the author had no further information on his children to help prove or disprove my theory. Can anyone researching the Natchez Coles help me with the children of William and Susannah?
Can anyone else see a connection with my James Cole and Elizabeth Robert?
Thanks very much for taking the time to review the above info.

Hope this helps someone searching the COLE family.
A tombstone in the NW corner of the cemetery lot of James A. BOWERS and
Martha S. BOWERS has the following information: Robert E., son of (can't
read) L. COLE, Aug 2, 1834 to Sept 15 (or 13), 1901. This is in Dallas
Co., AR.
I have no idea who this person is, but he belongs to someone. My
gr.gr.grandfather James A. BOWERS, b. 1831, orig. from GA, died 1903 and
would have given permission for this interment.
If he is in your family, I will be glad to make picture of tombstone and
send it to you.

I am trying to find the birth record for Gilbert Cole. I believe he
was born in Nova Scotia,Canada in 1848. Also, his final resting place.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. He was married to Rosillah
Rogers. He was in the 1881 Census for New Brunswick.,Canada. It doesn't
say what part of Nova Scotia.
