Hello List
My ancestor, Abel S. Thompson, served in the Civil war from 12 Aug 1862 until

He drew a Pension until his death 29 Dec 1922 at the Pacific Branch National
Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, this was located at Wilmington,
California.
He died a pauper.
My Question is this:
How can I locate his grave?
I have the notice of death from the home to The Pension Bureau
but no mention where he is/was buried.

This family of COLE are comprehensively included on the IGI for the 18th
century and early 19th century. The children were all baptised at St
Anne's, Soho, Westminster [nowadays we would just tend to say 'London,
England']
Forinstance:
1. Benjamin COLE
+ Martha JOHNSON [12 Dec 1762 St Martin in the Fields]
2. William b. 8 Aug 1765, St Anne Soho
2. Benjamin Thomas bap. 2 July 1767,St Anne, Soho
2. Mary Mathias b. 13 July 1769, St Anne Soho
2. Martha b. 13 Oct 1770, St Anne Soho
2. Anne b. 27 Nov 1771, St Anne Soho
2. Mary b. 21 Dec 1776, St Anne Soho
* 2. Matthias Walker COLE b. 19 Nov 1773
+ Catherine ? BLAGROVE [no marriage found yet, but ? about 1807 maybe]
He was described as a Jeweller in the baptism registers for his children.
3. James Johnson COLE b. 16 May 1808, St Anne Soho
3. Mary Ann COLE b. 8 April 1810, bap: St Anne Soho
* 3. Martha Blagrove COLE b. 27 May 1814, St Giles [bap:St Anne Soho]
+ George Goodacre PALMER, [19 July 1835, St James, Westminster]
(These are my gt gt grandparents)
3. Frances COLE b. 21 June 1816 Upper St Martins Lane [bap:St Anne Soho]
3. Maximilian COLE b. 18 June 1818, [bap St Anne Soho]
3. Matthias Walker COLE b. 24 Nov 1820 [bap: St Anne Soho]
Does anyone else have any interest in this family and know what became of
any of Martha Blagrove Cole's siblings or parents?

Hello List,
My ggggrandfather, Harvey Cole (1791 - 1863) married Nancy Taylor (1788 - 1866). First child born 1810. Harvey's known brothers and sisters: Elisha S.(d.1841), Russel(l) (1792 - 1852), Charles H. (1803 - 1882), Amanda and Rachel. Elisha S. and Harvey owned land in Cairo, Greene County, New York at least by 1812, as reported on the Cairo Assessment rolls.
I am looking for the parents of these Cole children. I have some info on these children and where they migrated to, but no info on when they came to Greene County or where they came from. There is a thought that they were Hollanders from Sand Lake, Rens. Cty.????
Is anyone out there looking for this Cole line? Know anything about this line?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Linda
Hello.
I am looking for information on Walter B COLE. Parents were Wellington W
COLE and Elizabeth E COLE( COLLINS ). Walter may have been born in Washington
DC around 1878. Walter married Minnie E TENNIHAN in Boston MA in 1910. This
would of been Walters second marriage. Any information on this family will be
appreciated.
Best wishes.
Bob.
Looking for information on the following family:
Mitchell H Cole, Jr; born 12 Oct 1926 in Oklahoma, probably in Pryor, OK. d:25 Feb 1976 In Orange Co., CA.
His parents were:
Mitchell Henry Cole b. 28 Nov 1905 in Oklahoma; d. in 1969 in Riverside, CA.
Dorothy Perselle/Purcell. No other info on her.
They had a daughter, Sue Cole.
Any info is welcome.
Thanks,
Vickie
I research Tillman B. Cole married 1858 to e. Fuller and 1860 to Elizabeth Driscoll also Paulding County GA, in Benton/Cleburne/Calhoun county, Alabama in 1869 (at least)I would like to share inforamtion.

I have listed this before, but it's been awhile so I'll try again.
I am looking for the parentage of Frank C. Cole (no idea what the "C" stands for). He was born around 1849 in Georgia, and married Mary L. Swafford in 1872 in Paulding County, GA. I think he may be one of the Carroll County Coles. He had a son named Franklin Newton Cole, b. 1871. I have looked for him in the 1850/1860 census, but I may be looking in the wrong counties.
This family migrated to Union Parish, LA about 1880. He died there about 1917. I can provide lots of info on descendents, but we have no idea who his parents were.
Would appreciate any help at all.
Thanks - Lynda in New Orleans

Like you, I have Christopher Cole married to Sarah Tipton. My line is through
their son, Ezekiel Cole, b. 8 Jan 1747/8 in Baltimore. I have four
generations behind Christopher, don't know how accurate the information is.
Sarah goes back umpteen generations, anything back that far I sort of take
with a grain of salt. I also have another Sarah Tipton b. 1847 in OH, dau. of
Francis Walden Tipton and Elizabeth Talbott Cole. Let's compare notes. Libby

Descendants of Cornelius Cole
There are so many Coles in Switzerland County, I don't think I'll ever figure them out!
I believe my Coles started in New York and then went to Pennsylvania. I think there were 2 brothers in PA named Joseph and Cornelius. My line comes from Cornelius. His son Adam married Ann SHULL. The Shulls and the Coles all seemed to have left PA for Indiana. Below are listed Cornelius' children. Can anyone help me with this line?

Re the message below from Beth stating that John Cole located in
Pittstown, Rensselaer Co.NY, I am hoping that somebody has additional
information on Cole's in Pittstown or other Rensselaer Co NY locations.
I am looking for any relations of Frederick S. (Smith?) Cole. Earliest
info I have is from Surrogate Court records of Renss Co where Frederick
S. Cole
is made the ward of William Wiley (both of Pittstown NY) in 1825 and
indicates that Frederick was born in Jul, 1810.
I have a good deal of info on Frederick Cole from this point forward but
have been unable to determine his parents or make a connection to any
other Cole in Renss Co.
I was hoping someone might have additional information on:
1. Any relative of this John Cole coming to Rensselaer Co. (including
any
unwed females) who may have stayed in that area through 1810 (and thus
may have been parent to Frederick)?
2. Whether the names Wiley or Herrick or Smith inter-marry with any of
this
Cole family while in this area?
I would greatly appreciate any information or advice in pursuit of
Frederick S. Cole's lineage.

John Cole, son of John, son of John, son of Hugh, son of James was born
Sept 12, 1742. He married first Marcy Wood on July
9, 64 who was born near Providence, R.I. in 165 to Noah and Elizabeth
(Mason) Wood. She died Apr. 10, 1770. John then
married Susasanah Salisbury. She was born in 1746 and died Feb. 23,
1823. John belonged to the Ancient and Honorable
Artillery Co. and served in the American Rev. John Cole and his wife
Susannah are buried in Gravel Bank Cem., located near
the Ohio River below Marietta, Ohio upon a hill near the farm upon which
he settled upon when coming to Washington Co., Oh.
The inscriptions upon each of their grave stones state that they were
natives of R. I.
In 1767, John Cole left Swansea, Mass (now R. I.) and located in
Pittstown, Rensselaur Co., N. Y. In 1796 he moved to
Hoosick in the same county. Then in 803, he moved to Washington Co.,
Ohio, locating near Belpre, Ohio and owned the first
ferry between Belpre and Parkersburg, Va. (now W. Va.) . On the Ohio
River, between Parkersburg and Marietta, he opened
the first hotel in that part of the country, directly across the Ohio
River from what is know as Brisco Run, W. V. and was
afterwards own by his grandson, Henry Cole. I have listed as the
children of John Cole the following
Asa b. 1765
Nathan b. 1766 m. Mary Druce, lived in Pittsbord(?), N. Y.
Noah b. Mar. 11, 1767
Elizabeth b. May 4, 1773
Candice b. 1775
Phillip b. Jan 6, 1779
Ichabod b. June 3, 1781
John Cole b. 1785.
Will continue with Asa Cole later

I'm starting to research some of my "neglected branches" and am frankly not
looking forward to such a common name as "Cole". My maternal grandmother was
a Cole. Her grandfather was George Barry Cole born nov 19, 1840. I don't
have a birth record to prove his middle name or his birthplace. The middle
name comes from my Grandma's notes and his birthplace of Ontario, Canada
comes from her too. His parents were Samuel and Mary (BARRY) born circa
1820-25. Of all the birthplaces for Samuel and Mary, I put most faith in the
Information on gleaned from the 1910 census information for George. It says
that Samuel was born in Maine, his mother in Pennsylvania. This same census
record also lists George's birthplace as Canada and that he had come to the
U.S. in 1850.
So, is there anyone out there with a possible connection?
Can someone point me in the right direction??
I'm trying to search for an obit from Fremont, Alameda Co., CA. I have the date of death, but how would I search?
