Looking for the following family:
Henry Mitchell Cole; b. 29 Nov 1905 in Cole Comm., Mayes Co., OK; d. 1969 in Riverside, CA. Son of John and Letitia Cole. Married Dorothy Perselle/Purcell.
They had 2 children: Sue Cole and Mitchell Cole, Jr; b. 12 Oct 1926; d. 25 Feb 1976 in Orange, CA.
This is all I have. I beleive that Dorothy has passed, but since I'm not sure of the correct spelling of her name, cannot locate her on the death index. And the daughter, Sue, I don't know her married name, or if she ever married.
If anyone has any information, please contact me.
Thanks,
Vickie
Peter,
In 1920 there is a Clara Gusberg who has a son Henry with her. She is 22
and living in CT. Is this one of your people?

Subject: Samuel Edward Cole
Dear LISTERS:
For many years I have been searching for a photo of my late step-father:
SAMUEL EDWARD COLE who was born in Cherry Hill, MD., (Cecil Co.) in 1885.
He was a well-known paper mill worker in Maryland and then Delaware ( at
Curtis Brother Paper Mill). In 1918 he lived at 48 No. Chapel St., in
Newark, DE. with my mother, CLARA (nee Gusberg) whom he married in
Hartford, CT. in Aug. 1917. He died in June 1940 at 28 Choat St., Newark,
DE., while living with his sister Mrs. William (Ida) Morrison. I would
gladly pay for any information, photo or text that you can provide.
Advancing age and declining health limit my ability to travel much to
perform my own on-site research. Thank you.

Any connections?

DEATHS AND FUNERALS
Mrs. Almira Galusha Died at 4 O'Clock Yesterday Afternoon
Mrs. Almira GALUSHA, widow of the late Martin GALUSHA, died at 4 o'clock
yesterday afternoon at the residence of her son-in-law, Hon. John VAN
VOORHIS, at the corner of East avenue and North Goodman street. Mrs. GALUSHA
was ninety-six years and three months of age at the time of her death. She
was in the full possession of her faculties and had not been confined to her
bed until yesterday. She has resided in this city for over sixty years and
for the last twenty years has lived with Mr. VAN VOORHIS. She was born in
Shaftesbury, Vermont, on the 18th day of February, 1797. She was the daughter
of Peleg and Olive COLE. She married Martin GALUSHA on the 20th day of
September, 1815. Jonas GALUSHA, her husband's father, was at the time of her
marriage governor of Vermont. He was a widower and his daughter-in-law took
charge of the governor's mansion, and for several years was the first lady of
the state. A few years later her husband and herself removed to Rome, New
York, where they resided for several years. In 1833 they removed to Rochester
where Martin GALUSHA died February 19, 1868. His widow survived him by more
than a quarter of a century. Martin GALUSHA bought back in the ‘30's a large
tract of land in the old fifth ward, which ever since has been known as the
GALUSHA tract. He was a deacon and a leading member of the Second Baptist
Church. His brother, Rev. Elon GALUSHA, was one of the most eloquent Baptist
clergymen of his time and one of the leaders of the anti-slavery movement in
the Northern states. Mrs. GALUSHA, after her husband's death, continued her
relations with the Second Baptist Church, and up to the time of her death was
the oldest living member of that church. She left two children surviving her,
Norman H. GALUSHA and Mrs. John VAN VOORHIS, both of this city, and a
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Freelove E. GALUSHA, of No. 32 Gorham street. Also a
brother, P. Charles COLE, who resides at the Park Avenue Hotel, New York
city. A sister, Ann Jeanette HUNTINGTON, wife of Elon HUNTINGTON, of this
city, died in March, 1883. Another sister, A. Jane ARMSTRONG, widow of
General ARMSTRONG, of Rome, died at Troy in 1888. There are eight
grand-children who survive her, Eugene, Charles, Nellie and Norman VAN
VOORHIS, Martin, Myra and Harriet HUNTINGTON, of this city, and Morgan G.
KELLY, of Banning, California.
It need hardly be said that Mrs. GALUSHA was widely known and that her death
will be a cause of grief to many outside of her immediate family circle.
Her's was one of the city's historic names and she was honored and respected
throughout a wide circle.
