Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Someone contacted me about a Patty or Patsy Cole. I told them that I didn't
know anything about such a person. However, it turns out that she is my
dad's first cousin. She is the daughter of my grandfather's brother,
Clarence Cole. He died at age 33 and nothing more was heard of Patsy. She
would have been born in the forties. If I remember, the person searching for
her lost family said that Patsy was born in 1946.
I apologize for dismissing the possibility of a connection so lightly. But I
thought I had more complete information. I don't remember how the researcher
found me, but I am hoping you are using Rootsweb. Get back in contact with
me if you are the one looking for Patsy's family. You have found it!

Hello,
I am working my Cole line again.
I have been checking the book Baltimore County Families by Robert W. Barnes.
And the LDS files and other resources online. I have not seen any link of
my Mordecai Cole born in Baltimore, MD and married to Elizabeth Bond as the
son of Christopher Cole and Sarah Tipton. Further more is Christopher Cole
in fact a son to Thomas Cole and Sarah? I see certain children listed in the
Barnes book, others listed on the CD from Broderbund #208 and Christopher
Cole is not one of the children listed.
Also in regards to Sarah ? married to Thomas Cole. I have seen Sarah with no
known surname and other researches say Sarah last name is Broad and another
has listed her last name as Sarah Tipton. Now I am confused. But after
checking the book and cd I find no prove that her name was either Broad or
Tipton, just unknown.
Does anyone know for a fact what her maiden name is?
Can anyone clear up Mordecai Cole's parents for me. I cannot get a death
record and I seem to have checked everything I can here in CA, does anyone
have any ideas. Thank you. Sincerely, Donna

townspeople convicted her of witchcraft in 1656 and she was repeatedly
whipped and sent to prison in Boston. Full details of poor Goody's life,
excerpts from original court documents, etc., can be viewed at the Hampton

This is just a test message. If you get it, you'll know that our list is
working again. If it bounces back to me, I'll know we still have a problem!
A number of RootsWeb mailing lists have been inactive for the past few days,
because of problems with the Listserver. These lists have reportedly been
moved to a new server, drawing on the backup files, and are working again.
If you have attempted to unsubscribe or change modes while the list was down,
you may find yourself back still subbed or in the previous mode. Just send
in the command(s) again.
Listowners have been warned there could be a flood of messages when the lists
come back up, because it's hard to tell how many messages are in queue and
how many got lost.
If you posted a message in the past few days, but it hasn't come through yet,
PLEASE wait a day or two before reposting it so we don't swamp the system.

Hello. I am seeking whatever might be available on three daughters of
Wheeler Cole and Eunice Ingalls, born between 1771 and 1790 in Massachusetts
(probably, maybe southern New Hampshire). Family story says one married a
man named French, another a man named Ingalls. I have some data on four
other sisters, Hannah who married Jonathan Thurber, Lydia who married Rufus
Ingalls, Irene/Irena who married Lyman Drake, and Olive who married William
Copley, but always glad to have more. Lydia is my g3-grandmother. Thanks
for any help.

It has been a while since the last time I posted a message on my missing Cole maybe I can get lucky this time. My information is limited but hopefully someone will recognize this person or a connections. Here Goes!
Elizabeth W. Cole was born about 1822 in North Carolina and died sometime after 1873 in Tennessee. She married John M. Casburn on March 24, 1846 in Jackson, Madison Co., TN. There was an announcement of the marriage in the Nashville Whig. John was born about 1816 in England and died between 1855-1860 in Tennessee. John owned property in Jackson for a while before the family moved to Ripley, Lauderdale Co., TN where he worked as a watchmaker and constable. They appear on the 1850 Tennessee census for Lauderdale CO. By 1860 Elizabeth appears in Huntersville, Madison Co., TN with her children but not her husband John. She is on the 1870 census and a reference is made to being present at the marriage of her daughter in 1873. After that time I am unable to locate her. Elizabeth also went by the name of Lizzie. There were four children born to this union: Carolina W. 1847, Thomas R. 1849, William R. 1851 and John C. 1854.
Any help will be appreciated.

Dear Listers,
I am posting again for all the newcomers who may be connected to my
OWENS family. I am looking for anything (prior to his birth) on James
W. OWENS, born 1838, in either Virginia or one of the state line
counties of North Carolina. He married Anne LEATH in Ashe County,
North Carolina in August of 1856. They had one child, George Washington
OWENS, born 1859 (later married to Curilda COLE, daughter of James COLE
and Lydia HOWELL). George and Curilda had five children, each child
having three first names, George Thomas Edd; John Rufus J. ; Pearl
A. L. ;
M. Laura J. ; and Lellie Zara Dell. I don't know what some of the
initials stand for. James and Anne were in the 1860 census of Grayson
County, Virginia, living in the Elk Creek district. James enlisted to
fight in the Civil War on June 24th in Independence Virginia and was
assigned to Company K, 51st Virginia Infantry. Evidently he was
wounded in one of the first two battles because he died at home before
the end of the year 1861. I need parents and siblings names, his death
date and anything else you have.
Hopefully someone will recognize these elusive people.

On the same date that James Owens enlisted in Co K of the 51st Virginia, the following two men also
enlisted from Independence in the same company:
Jackson Owens Died 8/11/1861of Typhoid Fever in Camp Koe Johnson, VA
George Owens Died of wounds 5/22/1864.
I would look for a sibling or father/son relationship between these Owens.
Good Luck,
Keith Wilson

Some people that have AOL have written to me that they can't get there
from AOL. I have noticed that when others post their URL to different
lists, there is usually a second URL for AOL users. Does anyone know the
difference in the 2 URLs and how I would post the URL for the site
below for AOL users
