Hi everyone, I've noticed that on some of my other lists there is much
activity. On the Quaker a great deal, but on the Loomis Line people are
really actively searching.
I'm looking for any Cole family members in New Jersey, from there I'm
hoping to find my way back. The Cole family is really easy to trace if you
can find roots in Plymouth, Mass.
Peter L. Cole in New Jersey is my problem. I think his middle name was
Ludlow, and that would make it easier, but so far I haven't been able to
find any census for the state of New Jersey for the year 1820, or even
1810. If someone has access to those records, I'd greatly appreciate it if
theywould look up any Cole's there, in 1820 my gr gr grandfather would have
been approx. 5 or six years old.

Hi everyone, I've been researching my Cole connections for about five years
and my father before me, but this is the first time I've found a "bunch" of
people who are all interested in the same name. And, I've found through
other lists that this is the way to really find someone, or some family.
My gr gr grandfather was Peter Ludlow Cole, he was born somewhere in New
Jersey in 1816 or so and became a doctor. He moved to Indiana eventually,
where he married Elizabeth Nergenia Muirhead and lived in Kosciusko Co for
a long time. He then somehow separated from her and he was buried in the
Clunette cemetery there next to a son, whom, I believe was from a former
wife, and a daughter Jesse, by Elizabeth and a woman named Smith, a friend
in the Kosc. Co. Historical Soc. found his grace and has sent me
photographs. She also found some record there, in the same county that
mentioned his middle name as Ludlow. I've always been able to find just the
Dr. Peter L. Cole, which is on his gravestone.
He had a son Winfield Scott Cole and a daughter Mary. Mary married a McFall
there in Indiana and Winfield eventually found his way to California where
he died in 1933 in Santa Cruz.
Any help I can get on this family would be greatly appreciated. My
grandmother was the dauther of Winfield Scott Cole, her name was also
Elizabeth Nergenia Cole.
THanks for being there.
