COLDWELL, Malcolm Elliott "Uncle Mac" - 87, Lower Wolfville, passed away Monday, December 18, 2006, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on June 21, 1919, in Wolfville Ridge, he was a son of the late Arthur and Agusta (Bishop) Coldwell. He was an army veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas as a gun instructor and sniper. Prior to and following the war he had been employed as a carpenter for M.L. Wallace Contracting and later Acadia University, from where he retired. Mac was a kind and giving person, who put everyone before himself. He loved hunting, fishing and hockey. He reached out to people near and far with his passion of giving away over 600 of his homemade wheelbarrows. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by daughter, Joy Rogers, Lower Wolfville; son, Blaine (Maxine), Grand Pré; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was pr!
edeceased by his wife, the former Eva Durling; sisters, Bessie Moore, Greta Ritchie and Hilda "Pinky" Wright; brothers, Fred, Arthur and Medford. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion Service to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 21, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 22, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
