Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

No the ship you mention is a different ship. The ship that opened the Panama Canal was a steamship owned by Panama Rail Road Steamship Line which was based in New York City at least up until 1925. I was surprised to find another ship by the same name when I was doing some surfing on the internet a few years ago.

I just notice your Posting of Feb 2000 mentioning the ship SS Ancon. Was it a banana ship that was later converted to U. S. Navy use as a flag ship? During World War II the Ancon served as one of the two flag ships during the Normandy invasion and many of the other invasions. It seems likely that the World War II ship would not be that old, but it was converted from a banana ship. My father, Russell Hicks McConnell, was Chaplain of that ship in World War II.

Also found just a min ago That Sally went by a differnt last name the wrote in the book the book also has a differnt death date then what the book said but I know it her as she burid with the rest of her kids. I am still look thou the site to see if i can find any thing about Emily but her sister and bother are both burid there also with there kids David Dickinson and Eliza.

Do you have any more info on the Colcord be side what in the book as I have the book too. But did not know if you had any paper docoment be side the book. I am willing to learn any thing new on my great grandmother Sally Dickinson and my great grandpa Joseph Colcord. Thanks.
