Luckily the Georgia Genweb Archives has the 1860 Carroll Co. Census
transcribed. In it, W. B. is listed as W. B. Cokeley.
W. B is aged 31
his wife is Martha A, aged 27.
The children are:
Susan J, aged 6
Eliza M, aged 4
William F, aged 2
Harriett C, aged 3 months.
This doesn't appear to match and doesn't appear to be the correct family.
Here is the transscription: People numbers 34 through 39
http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/carroll/census/1860/dist10-347-391.txt
But I did find something interesting in the census. The household of Alex
Colclough, spelled correctly aged 57.
Wife Mary, aged 60
and one son listed
William aged 25
record is here, people numbers 3, 4, and 5 on page 454
http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/carroll/census/1860/dist11-p453-p467.txt
This William Colclough, son of Alexander and Mary Hart was the man who I
figured must be the father of William Thomas Colclough. But William B.
Colclough and Hester Ann Overton were married on Dec 11, 1849 in Taliaferro
County Georgia...so I don't think William B. Colclough is the son of
Alexander now.
William Colclough and Charity Harris came to Greene County Georgia early
and Charity eventually died in Taliaferro County where she made a will. I
think this family has to be a descendant of hers some how. In her will,
Charity mentions four sons, John Colclough *(I have researched John's
family, he married Nancy Nelms and all of his children are accounted for,
he is not the father of William B. Colclough.)*, Alexander Colclough, *(Had
sons named Eli H. Colclough and W. B. Colclough)*l. William Colclough *(married
Martha Evans in Taliaferro Co. on Jan 18, 1827. I have been unable to
locate him..so William B. Colclough could be his son)*, and Charles H.
Colclough *(supposedly moved to Talledaga County Alabama. I have not
researched him yet).
*The only way this makes sense is for the William B. Colclough who married
Hester Overton to be from the William Colclough and Martha Evans line. I
just can't find them anywhere.

Hi Vance,
As I pointed out in my prior email, he was probably the one that FamilySearch has indexed as "W B Cakeley". A common phonetic spelling of the name is Cokeley or Coakley, or even Keckley. I haven't seen the record, but I bet it was written Cokeley, and the indexer read it as Cakeley. But I suppose it could have been written as indexed - Cakeley.

Hello,
I am trying to figure out who the parents of William T. Colclough of
Taliaferro County Georgia are.
I figure he must be a descendant of William Colclough and Charity Harris.
According to Census Information,
William T. Colclough was born in 1858 in Georgia. He was married to a Mary
"Molly" who was born in 1856 in Georgia.
They had children named
Hester N Colclough
Wesley B Colclough
Jesse O Colclough
Clara M Colclough
Lizzie L. Colclough
Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
Vance C. Harris
The census records show that William at times went by the name of Thomas. The 1880 census shows him in the household of his mother, Hester.
Working backwards, that probably makes him son of Benjamin Colclough and Hester Overton, who married 1849 in Taliaferro. Evidently, the "O." in Jesse's name is Overton. You can find his obituary online. The Mollie was Mollie West.
Benjamin is probably the one indexed at FamilySearch as "W B Cakeley" in the 1860 census of Carroll Co., GA.
Happy New Year,
Gregg
