Hello Samantha I mailed you on a separate topic today.
Thought I'd try to help.
If you go the birth index and put Colclough as family name and Windsor as mother's name 8 children come up.
Stanley
Alfred
Iris
Leonard
Rita
Basil
Alma
Some of them might have died if you were not aware of them!
If you go to marriages after 1916 there is only the one of Colclouth/Windsor = your Alfred H Colclough and Elsie Windsor in 1920.
So we can assume they married before 1904 as he would have been 16 then, (but you never know).
If you look at births before 1915 for Alfred it throws up quite a few, I'm afraid you'll have buy his marriage cert to find out who is father was to identify him either in the 1901 census or the 1911 census.
Unless someone has a better solution.
Best for now
Steven

I'm just starting to research my dads side of the family and have hit a brick wall already.
My grandad, Basil Colclough (1934-1993) his siblings - Stanley (1920 - abt 1958), Alfred (1921), Iris (1924) Leonard (1926), Rita (1930) and Alma (1936). His father was Alfred, and mother was Elsie Nee Windsor. They married in 1920.
My grandma is Jean Nee Parr (1934), she is not sure if any of my grandad's siblings are still alive as they lost touch.
I really dont know how to go any further back without any more information! If anyone could shed any light, no matter how small I would be so grateful!
Many thanks, Samantha Colclough
