As an author of 10 books on the transcriptions of old documents I have
thought it would be nice to publish a book on Transcribing Old
Documents. What I would like is suggestions of what the general public
would like to see in such a book.
7 of the 10 books have the Colclough families in them and I am sure that
there are loads of you out there who had family in the Warren County, NC
area in the 1700s and 1800s. I am looking for samples of handwriting
that you are having trouble transcribing. Please submit a scanned copy
of your document to books(a)ancestraltracks.com and I will send you a
transcribed version back for the use of the document in my new book.
Please include a permission note with the scanned document. For those
of you who do not have a scanner please mail the document or color copy
of document to: Ancestral Tracks PO Box 64, Forest Grove, OR 97116-0064,
and I will scan it. If you would like to check out my work please visit
my website at http://www.ancestraltracks.com and please sign my guest book.

Hello,
I, too, am looking for information regarding the PARTRIDGE family of 1600's
Virginia from London, England.
In information that I have seen it shows that my paternal 8th great
grandfather, (Captain) Alexander DONIPHAN, born: abt. 1640 in Plymouth,
Devonshire, England, and married 1st wife who was named either Aimee
PARTRIDGE? or Aimee RIVETT? and associated/related to the COLCLOUGH family.
Her first name is seen spelled Aimee/Amee/Amy.
(Captain) Alexander DONIPHAN's wives were:
(1.) Aimee PARTRIDGE?/RIVETT?,
(2.) Margaret MOTT,
(3.) Susannah ?
(Captain) Alexander DONIPHAN and Aimee PARTRIDGE?/RIVETT? were the parents of
my paternal 7th great grandmother, Amy DONIPHAN, who married as her 1st
husband, (Captain) John KELLY, born: abt. 1660 in VA, (son of Penelope ? and
Matthew KELLY, born: abt. 1640.)
After the death of (Captain) John KELLY, Mrs. Amy DONIPHAN (KELLY) married
2nd husband: Edward RANSDELL.
>From (Capt.) John KELLY and Amy DONIPHAN I descend through their daughter,
Ann KELLY, born: abt. 1696 in VA, died: 1734/35 in Richmond County,
Virginia, who married William JENNINGS, Jr., born: abt. 1695 in Richmond Co.,
VA, died: 1733 in Richmond Co., VA, (son of Mary WILLOUGHBY and William
JENNINGS, Sr., (son of immigrant, John JENNINGS, Sr., born: May 1640 in St.
Martin's Parish, Birmingham, England, and wife, Margaret PAYNE, (daughter of
John PAYNE, immigrant, born: abt. 1615 in Yorkshire, England, and his wife
whom is thought to be Margrett/Margaret ROBINSON, daughter of immigrant
Richard ROBINSON, immigrated in early 1600's to the Tidewater area of
Virginia.)
There was someone on the COLCLOUGH list, I believe, that sent me some
information awhile back regarding this lineage that, unfortunately, was lost
in a computer crash the very day that I was getting ready to install my
Norton Virus Scan 2002 but decided I was going to check my email before I
installed it.
Anyway, my basic main family tree file was saved but lost some of the extra
information.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Bellinda Myrick - Barnett
