Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Well I'm on to something new. Earlier I had posted about Hester Colclough, saying that her father and mother was Major George Colclough, and Elizabeth Thoroughgood. This information came from a sister. I talked to her again tonight and lo and behold, she told me that was incorrect. She said Hester's mother was Elizabeth Willoughby.
That rang little bells in my head, and I recalled a post mentioning Willoughby, so I went back into the archives and found Gregg's post. Bless his heart!
This is from an earlier post from Gregg:
"I can find one Major George Colclough who married an Elizabeth at about the
right time to have had a daughter marry and have kids in the 1720s range.
That was Major George Colclough who married Elizabeth Willoughby, and also
Ursula Bysshe. George, Elizabeth, and Ursula may have all had more, and
perhaps several more, marriages than these. I don't know if this George
Colclough had any kids however."
Now if I can just tie this all in. Now supposedly Hester married an Ensign Joel Stribling. They had a child Colclough Stribling, who in turn fathered a Benjamin, who fathered John, who fathered my gr gr grandmother Julia Ann Stibling.
At any rate, that discrepancy between Thoroughgood and Willoughby, would appear to be cleared up, and would explain why things just didn't work right, had it been a Thoroughgood.

Hello gang,
I want to take a minute to thank you for your good behavior. :O) Due to recent events, many lists have had problems with politically oriented messages. This list is NOT the place to air politics, and I thank you all for not using the list in this way. Congrats to you all.
Other no-no's would be spamming, flaming, and subjects that are waaaaaay off topic. There are also some guidelines set down by RootsWeb regarding lists. If you're not sure what they are, or have other questions regarding lists, you might want to read up on them at:
http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help/mail5.html
I want the list to have a homey feel, so there are some things that I will allow. Since we are going in to the holiday season, one thing you can post, is favorite family recipes. This is perfectly acceptable to me, as it reflects a little more on your families, and what they liked.
Also, posting family traditions is welcomed. More insight yet into the families. There are many aspects to families in addition to hard facts and data.
One more thing that I will gladly allow, is any prayer requests that any of you might have. A part of family, whether genetic, a list family, or a family of the heart, is support and encouragement.
You all have been great, and not once have I had to reprimand a single one of you. That's a pretty good thing! :O)
And so that's about it from the "bossy" list mom,......chuckle. Now back to just being me!
Happy Thanksgiving,
Deah
Interesting site that contains a map showing the spread of the 1918 influenza epidemic. It affected many lives, and may account for many of our ancestors deaths. I have noticed at times, several family members dying withing a short time frame, many of which were infants. This may have been a factor in some of them.
Blessings,
Deah
