Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
That would be Charles Albert Colby, son of John Colby & Ida Ayers. His
actual birthday is 6 December 1927. I don't know why he was going as
"Albert C" instead of "Charles A" or why his date of birth is off.
He was John's 18th child!!! But I don't think that is a record. Anyone
know the most children produced b y any single Colby?? That would be an
interesting bit for the web site!! LOL

Clarence W, Colby, 64, for 30 years a resident of Topsham, died Friday afternoon at his home on Green street.
He was born at Somerville, Jan. 31, 1877, the son of Frank A,, and Wealthy Stearns Colby, For a number of years he operated a planing mill on Maine street in Topsham. He was a past commander of the Brunswick lodge of Knights of Pythias.
He leaves his wife, Edith Warren Colby; one brother, Charles Colby of Topsham; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Perry of Bath; two nieces, Mrs. Margaret Main, Bath; Mrs. Adele Woodward, Topsham; four nephews, Clarence Colby, South Portland; George and Gerald Colby of Boston and Francis Perry of Bath

ROCHESTER, N. Y., July 6 ------
Alexander G. Colby, farmer and descendant of one of Monroe County's pioneer families, died on his farm, on which he was born, in Ogden last night. He was 76 years old.
Mr. Colby, the father of J. Merton Colby, president of the Monroe County Farm Bureau Federation, served two terms as postmaster of Spencerport during the Administration of Woodrow Wilson.
He leaves a widow, Lucretia Vannest Colby; two sons, J. Merton and Bernard A. Colby of Springfield, Mass., and a sister, Ida V. Colby of Spencerport.

Taylor Edward Colby, 44 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Saturday March 29, 2014 in Orange Beach, Alabama. A native of Mayfield, KY, he was the son of Ralph Edward, the late Mary Winston Taylor Colby.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Karen Barrineau, and Pastor Brian Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Brian Brown, Monty Glisson, Jerry O'Neal, Sonny Terrill, Eddie Bussell, Jr., Rick Cochran, Sr., Keith Price, Greg Hawkins, Ulf Alexandersen, Paul Leahy, Danny McBryant, and Greg Kerr serving as pallbearers.
Taylor was a member of Blackman United Methodist Church, and was a Safety Manager for Calsonic Kensai.

Cooweesta Ann (Jones) Colby, 80 year old Vinita resident, died Thursday,
February 27, 2014 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born on
March 18, 1933 in Vinita to Dennis and Myra (Clawson) Jones. Ann was named
after her great-grandmother, Fannie Cooweesta Akin, she attended first grade
at East Enterprise School near Hominy, she moved to White Oak and graduated
High School from there in 1951. Ann and her sister Sallye were outstanding
basketball players for the White Oak Ranchers. After High School she went to
work for Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator, she continued work with
them until December of 1976. On September 7, 1966 Ann married Delmer Dean
“Del” Colby, they were married at the home of and by George Vaughn near
Vinita. They moved to their farm in Bluejacket in 1976, where they ranched
and done commercial hay baling. They ran Charolais and Limousine Cattle, Ann
also went to work as a substitute rural mail carrier for Bluejacket Post
Office. They retired from the farm in October of 2000 and built their
present home north of Vinita. Ann was an expert genealogist, and done a lot
of research for the Craig County Genealogy Society.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, Sallye Fleming in
August of 2003.
The family includes: her husband Del Colby of the home, two step-sons, Duane
And Darrell Colby of Afton; nieces, Cooweesta Kirkland and Sallye Williams
of Skiatook; nephew, Mark Fleming of Collinsville; sister in-law, Eileen
Damron of Woodward; great-nieces, Mica Pattillo, Cooweesta Rust;
great-nephews, Cole Williams and Buddy Fleming; numerous other relatives and
close friends.
The funeral will be held Monday, March 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Luginbuel
Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Interment will
follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Friends may give to the Craig
County Genealogy Society, P. O. Box 484, Vinita, OK 74301. Online
condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the
Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
