CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. -- Gale Lewis, of Citrus Heights, Calif., formerly of Westbrook, ME, died in her sleep on May 20, 2011.
She was born on May 8, 1957, in Westbrook, the daughter of Sidney and Gladys Colby. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1975. Prior to health complications, she worked as an office manager at several businesses in California.
She is survived by her parents of Berkeley Street in Westbrook; her husband Robert Lewis of Citrus Heights, Calif.; and a son, Trebor Lewis. She is also survived by her siblings, brothers Ken Lamb of Kennebunk, Paul Lamb of Salem, N.H., William Colby of San Diego, Calif., sisters Robin Bryson of Pasadena, Texas, Sherry Swinnerton of Abingdon, Md., and Sue Ellen Colby of Brookfield, Ill.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by those of us who dearly loved her.
By her request, there will be no funeral services.

Sidney J. Colby
WESTBROOK -- Sidney J. Colby, 74, of Berkeley Street, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in a Portland hospital.
He was born 15 Aug 1938 in Oswego, N.Y., the son of Beatrice Colby. Sidney served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Special Forces. He had been employed by the S.D. Warren Co. for over 38 years, retiring in 2003. He was very involved with history and was an avid hunter.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Gale Colby Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Kneeland Colby; sons, Ken and Kathleen Lamb of Maine, Paul and Nancy Lamb of New Hampshire, and William Colby of California, daughters, Robin Bryson of Texas, Sherry and Steve Swinnerton of Maryland, and Sue Ellen Colby of Illinois; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At his request, services will be private.

Alice,
Samuel Harvey Colby appears in my line but I am not a direct descendant. He
was the nephew of my Daniel Colby(b, abt. 1785) (son of Daniel and Elizabeth
Gilman) Daniel's brother was Samuel(b. 1795) and his wife was Mary Straw.
They are the parents of Samuel Harvey. At least that's how I have it.
