Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Worked for Cormier Hosiery Mills in Franklin
TILTON - Mary Ellen (Baker) Colby, 84, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, after a lengthy illness with her loving family with her at home.
She was born at home in Northfield on June 5, 1924.
She was the daughter of Margaret Murphy and Thomas Baker.
Mary was in the first graduating class of what is now Winnisquam Regional High School. Hers was the Class of 1942. Mary worked for many years at Cormier Hosiery Mills in Franklin.
Mary was happily married for 37 years to Sherwood Colby, who died in 1986. Of much importance in Mary's life were her family and the many pets she had over the years.
She especially enjoyed dining out with her daughter.
Survivors include her daughter, Judith Colby, and her longtime companion, Russell Mammino, of Hooksett; three sons, Thomas Colby of Hill, Steven Colby of Tilton and John Colby of Northfield; three loving grandchildren, Melody Kohrs of Independence, Mo., Thomas Colby Jr. of Tilton and Chris Colby of Tilton; three great-grandchildren, Jason, Amanda and Samantha; and nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
Mary was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption.
There will be no calling hours.
A private burial will be held in the spring.

Robert E. Colby
Colby, Robert E. Saginaw, Michigan Age 81, passed away quietly Thursday, December 11, 2008 with his family present.
The son of the late Zenas and Margaret Colby, Robert was born November 29, 1927 in Saginaw.
He served with the U.S. Army in Korea from 1954 to 1956.
He retired from General Motors, served as board member of Wanagas Credit Union, and was past Chairman of U.A.W. Local 699.
Bob's interests included Opera, Barbara Striesand, politics, reading, traveling, helping his daughter Arlene at the Redeye Coffeehouse, volunteering at the Local 699 Union Hall and at the Lawn Chair Film Festival.
Surviving are his wife, Etsuko Colby (the love of his life); a daughter, Arlene C. Maul and her husband, Robert F. Maul; and daughters, Louise Andrews and Sue Lapieirre; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. Archie Roy Colby, George Colby, and Arthur Colby.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday at Cederberg & Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorials to The Melanoma Research Foundation, 170 Township Line Road, Building B, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.

John F. Colby
BRIDGEWATER, MA-- John F. Colby, age 73, of Bridgewater and West Dennis, died at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, Nov. 29, 2008.
John was the husband of the late Barbara (Kipp) Colby and was a life long Bridgewater resident.
He was a son of the late Alice M. (Rainey) and Frederick Colby. Mr. Colby was born in Bridgewater and graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1953.
John worked for 27 years for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections as a corrections officer at MCI Cedar Junction, MCI Norfolk and retiring from MCI Bridgewater. Earlier in his life, he worked for Independant Nail in Bridgewater.
He was a Marine veteran.
John was the father of Kipp W. Colby of Lakeville, Kathleen A. Colby and Anne E. Chuckran of Bridgewater and Chris Colby of Ware. He was the loving companion of Mary E. Jamieson of Bridgewater and was the grandfather of four.
At the family's request, all services are private.

Wilma Colby, 89, of 4101 Rudy Martin Drive, Owensboro, died Friday, January 2, 2004 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Osgood, IN, a daughter of the late Harry and Mamie Newman Dobson, she retired as office manager of the former Carpet World, had owned a sewing business and was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church. She had been a member and former officer of the Younger Women s Club of Owensboro, and enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Joe Eskridge of Owensboro, and Susan and Tony Tiemersma of Douglasville, GA; four grandchildren and their spouses, Allen and Randa Remer Eskridge of Lexington, Gi Gi and Bill Hartlage of Louisville, Doug Tiemersma of Owensboro, and Bryan Tiemersma of Douglasville, GA; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Rose Tiemersma of Douglasville, GA and Chase Hartlage of Louisville.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be form 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be Monday in Cliff Hill Cemetery, in Versailles, IN
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Owensboro High School Band Boosters, 1800 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
