Bob Colby
I'm trying to find out if the following Polly Colby was the daughter of Jonathan Platts Colby and Esther Whittemore. Or does she belong to someone else?
Polly Colby
Born 1799
Died 28 Aug 1864
Of consumption
At Barre, Washington, VT
Age 65
(Died as a pauper)
The children of Jonathan Platts Colby were born at Barre, VT and that is where his wife Esther died. The birth date for this Polly is in the right range, so maybe ... or maybe she's the wife of a Colby?
The source for Polly Colby: Marriages, Births, and Deaths 1857, City Hall, Barre, Washington, VT, Vol. 3, p. 49.
Thank you, Judi

Dear sir; I'm just beginning my search for New England Colbys in our family tree, and I'd be thrilled to have a copy of this terrific find. My Colby line is connected through the surname 'Straw' in NH.

Ron,
Are these three individuals together in a picture? Obviously I have lots of
Enoch Colby's in the family from NH but do you know which one is actually in
the picture and does it state where in New Hampshire? Don't recognize the
other two names.

The relationship is ... compliated!
Sarah J. Colby's mother was Clementine Kimball. Her father was Jonathan
Kimball. He had a brother, Moses Kimball. He had a son, who is that William
M. Kimball. I believe that makes them first cousins, once removed.
