NEWPORT – Isabella C. Pinkham, 96, went to be with the Lord November 6, 2005. She was born October 1, 1909 at Richmond a daughter of Lineus and Marjorie (Cunningham) Colby. She married John Pinkham in 1931 and they moved to Newport that year. They enjoyed hunting and fishing and she enjoyed cooking and caring for her pets. She was predeceased by John in 1978; 3 sons, John, Jr. in 1932, Wilber in 1936, and Bernard in 1952. Isabella was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Pittsfield and the Newport Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Esther and husband Fred Temple of Palmyra, Julia “Judy” and husband Robert Herring of Cundy’s Harbor; a son Maurice of Newport; a brother, LeRoy Colby of Wiscasset; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 PM Wednesday, November 9th, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, followed by a graveside funeral service at Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Those who wish may assist the family with expenses, in care of Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, ME 04953.
There is some question as to the dob of Isaac Colby who married Hannah
Getchell
Hoyt has that he was born in abt 1679
The Isaac Colby b. 15 Jul 1680 is the son of Isaac Colby and Martha Parret
You have skipped a generation on Judith Colby and Samuel Silver.
Judith Colby married Samuel Silver b. 27 Jul 1730 d. 10 May 1796
He is the son of Samuel Silver and Martha Sargent.
Samuel Silver b. 20 Jan 1705/6 married (1) 9 Nov 1727 Martha Sargent (2) 14
Feb 1733/34 Jemima Kimball
This Samuel Silver is the s/o Samuel Silver and Sarah Colby
So it should be
(1) Samuel Silver and Sarah Colby
(2) Samuel Silver and Martha Sargent
(3) Samuel Silver and Judith Colby
Hope this helps
Ron

Any ideas which George Henry Colby is referred to in
this web page that I found while searching Colbys in
the military?
I have one George H. Colby in my database that fits,
but I do not know if he is the same person.

Ron, Charles' father was Joseph E. Colby--not sure if he was a seaman or
not. His wife was Alice M.???????. As to Charles' grandparents--have no
idea.
Have been looking for any Joseph born about 1850, but nothing so far.
Charles divorced his first wife, Mae Sears/Cyrs, whom he married in
Melnockit, ME in about 1894. His second wife was Esther Ojanen--married
Nov.7,1921.
Charles died in August 1962 and had been working in New York City for
Macy's
Department Store. If you find out anything else please keep me in mind.
