I see commercial adds on TV that mention Colby Furniture.
I looked them up and found out they are in Hamilton, Alabama.
Does anyone know if they are connected to our surname and what is their
line??

Do you have any Colby's who changed their name to Coby from Hardy? I have journals kept by a George Colby born 1871 died 1946. He is buried in Henniker. HIs father also named George and uncle Andrew changed their names. His uncle Thomas did not.
Any connection?

In perusing past messages on this list, I noted several pertaining to
Elizabeth Colby and David Moulton. From the Moulton side, there is evidence
that David and Elizabeth found their way to Weare, NH, before the
Revolutionary War. There were apparently also Cloughs and other Colbys
there. While there, David Moulton signed the so-called "Association Test"
declaring his support for the patriotic cause, and for this signing the DAR
has credited him with patriotic service. Not long after the Revolutionary
War they made their way to Orange Co., VT, eventually settling near Corinth,
VT. The records and history of Corinth reveal the births of a number of
children to David and Elizabeth Moulton. Other Colbys, although quite
distant in relation, were among the very first settlers of Corinth, VT.
Descendants of David and Elizabeth Moulton still live in that area. I saw
one message giving David Moulton's parents as Batt and Jemima Moulton. I
have seen that on a RootWebs page, also. However, among the Vermont
Moultons, David Moulton's parents are usually understood to be Henry and
Mary (Garland) Moulton of Rockingham Co., NH.

Derry News
Source: The Derry Times, Derry, N.H.
The fire department was called out at 2 o'clock this afternoon
for a fire in Caleb A. Colby's box mill. The department made good
time and saved the property from complete destruction, confining
the flames to the boiler and engine room, where they originated.

I am interested if anyone has any further information on two Revolutionary War Veterans, ISAAC COLBY, listed in the "Revolutionary War Rolls" (a 4-volume subseries in the volumes generally known as the New Hampshire State Papers, 40 vols.).
Isaac Colby, age 20 of Sandown, NH who served in Capt. Philip Tilton's Company from May 25 through August 1, 1775 [vol. XIV, pages 112 and 146].
Isaac Colby from Londonderry, NH who served in defense of Rhode Island:
July 20, through Sept 28, 1777 as a private, Capt. Daniel Reynold's Co.
Feb. 1 through Dec 30, 1778 as a sergeant, Capt. Daniel Reynold's Co.
July 9, 1779 through Jan 9, 1780, as a sergeant, Capt. Jonathan Leavitt's Co. (enlisted at same time as Major Daniel Reynolds of Londonderry). There is no mention of age for any of the Londonderry Isaac entries.
At present, we cannot determine if these two listings are the same person or two different Isaac Colbys.
I have an Isaac Colby listed as being buried in Springfield, NH and listed as a Revolutionary Patriot.
I have reviewed the Will and Probate for Isaac Colby (birth and parentage unknown) died Springfield, NH btw Apr - Sep 1814. His probate records referred to him as "Lieut."
Wife: Experience Stevens (died in Springfield, NH in 1816)
Children listed in will
Isaac (b abt 1792)
John (b 6 Jul 1797)
Caleb (birth unk)
Bettey (birth unk) - married last name Avery
Pheby (Phoebe) (birth unk) - married last name Heath
I know Isaac Colby and his family were in Springfield, NH in 1794 (History of Sullivan County). Also the 1800 Census lists Isaac Colby with four males under 10, one male 26-45; one female 10-16, two females 16-26 and one female 26-45.
The children: Isaac, b abt 1792 and John, b 6 Jul 1797 correspond to this information, don't know about Caleb's birth, though he was the youngest and under 21 at the time of his father's will in Apr 1814. Bettey and Phoebe were married at the time of their father's will in 1814, so they are probably the females ages 16-26. I don't have any information on who the two unaccounted children are. The 1800 Census data would indicate Isaac Colby and Experience Stevens were born between 1755 and 1775
I have found a marriage record of Isaac Colby and Experience Stevens in 1780 in Hampstead, Rockingham, NH and also have birth records for an Experience Stevens, b 17 Aug 1762. At present, I have no direct sourcing that these are the Isaac and Experience who died in Springfield, but the only other Experience Stevens I could find is too young.
I saw someone post information on a DAR registry for Phoebe Heath, married Daniel Heath, parents Isaac Colby and Ruth Stevens and listed Isaac Colby as born in 1760 and died in 1813 in Springfield, NH; however, I cannot find an Isaac whose birth corresponds to that and I have the probate records for the Isaac who died in Springfield and it was in 1814 and his wife was Experience Stevens.
Anyone have information that might solve this puzzle? Especially ancestry for Isaac Colby.

The reason is I have an Isaac Colby listed as being buried in Springfield, NH and listed as a Revolutionary Patriot.
I have reviewed the Will and Probate for Isaac Colby (birth and parentage unknown) died Springfield, NH btw Apr - Sep 1814. His probate records referred to him as “Lieut.”
Wife: Experience Stevens (died in Springfield, NH in 1816)
Children listed in will
Isaac
John
Caleb
Bettey married last name Avery
Pheby (Phoebe) married last name Heath
I saw someone post information on a DAR registry for Phoebe Heath, married Daniel Heath, parents Isaac Colby and Ruth Stevens and listed Isaac Colby as born in 1760 and died in 1813 in Springfield; however, I cannot find an Isaac whose birth corresponds to that and I have the probate records for the Isaac who died in Springfield and it was in 1814 and his wife was Experience Stevens.
Anyone have information that might solve this puzzle?
