I know this might be a long shot but some of you may have information on the Drurys since these families inter married.
I have a large (16"x20") family picture with names and dated Xmas 1894. It has several (9) Colbys, Wheelers, Philps and Halls and Drurys: Ann C. Drury, Walter & Mary Drury & son Charles, Colbert & Susan Drury & sons Eugene & Alfred. This is a very formal picture and gives me an impression that somebody had allot of money. I think it was gr gr Grandmother Ann C. Drury.
These families (Colbys and Drurys) are closely related as this was an annual event (Xmas picture) with the Daggetts a little more distant - coming in with Nancy Daggett marrying Ebenezer Colby on 21 Jan 1809 in Anson, Somerset Co., ME. (Frank L. Colby married Lorena O. Drury and Alvin P. Colby married Josie I. Drury)
I'm unable to find anything more than the below information on my gr gr Grandfather - Richard Drury or his family. Nothing on sons Walter or Colbert either.
Please, if you can provide any additional information on the Drurys, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ron, for identifying the Puritan article. It says what I've long
believed, including the mention of women's rights.
Some of us Anthony Colby descendents also have Hannah (Emerson) Duston as a
Puritan ancestor. (my line -- Hannah's daughter Eliz. married Stephen
Emerson, and about 3 generations later Abigail Emerson married Benaiah Colby
in Corinth, VT.)
Hannah Duston and 2 others were captured by Indians during the fighting in
1697 near Haverhill, Mass. Hannah's infant was smashed to death. After a
couple weeks in captivity Hannah and the 2 others killed their captors while
they slept, scalped them and escaped. She collected the scalp bounty and her
story was recorded by Cotton Mather, a prominent Puritan. He called it the
"Heroism of Hannah Duston." I've also heard that the first statue erected of
an American woman was the statue erected of Hannah in 1874.

Hello List --
I am seeking information on and contact with my grandfather's half brother,
Logan Hall COLBY, and his descendants. Here is what I have:
Logan Hall COLBY
b. 8 Mar 1910, prob in Sangamon Co., IL
Parents of Logan Hall COLBY were:
Guy Irving COLBY (b. 11 Sep 1865, d. 11 Jul 1911)
Bessie Olive HALL (b. 24 Dec 1881, d. 27 Oct 1931)
m. 27 Apr 1909 in Mechanicsburg, Sangamon, IL
Logan Hall COLBY may have married in October of 1932 -- location and wife's
name unknown. In July of 1942, he was working at the Navy Yard in Bremerton,
Washington. I have an excellent photo of him as a young man -- possibly a
high school graduation or college fraternity photo.
Does anyone know anything about Logan Hall COLBY or his descendants?

Robert,
The Isaac Colby I'm looking for died in Springfield, NH abt September 1814
and is listed in the Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary War Patriots. He
was married to Experience Stevens. I have a lot of information on his
descendants, I'm just stuck finding his parents. He was likely from the
Sandown (Kingston) area (Rockingham County), NH.
I'm starting to wonder if David Colby, b 15 Oct 1711 in Amesbury, MA (son of
Isaac Colby and Hannah Getchell) might have had another son as yet not
accounted for . Here's my logic: David Colby was married to Elizabeth.
They moved to Sandown and also Londonderry, NH. Elizabeth died in 1755/6
about the year Isaac would have been born. David Colby's father was named
"Isaac" if he had second son, he likely would have named it after his
father. The Isaac Colby listed in the Revolutionary War Roll was aged 20 in
1775 and from Sandown, NH. Isaac Colby married Experience Stevens in
Hampstead (Rockingham), NH 7 Dec 1780. Isaac Colby listed in the
Revolutionary War Records was discharged 4 Jan 1780 (giving him time now to
settle down and find a wife). Isaac Colby and Experience Stevens' first
born was a daughter they named Betty or Elizabeth (though Elizabeth was
Experience Stevens' mothers name as well and a common name at the time) I
was unable to locate a will or probate records for David Colby in Rockingham
County, so at the moment I can't pursue this theory.
There really isn't another Isaac Colby who fits the age profile and is from
the Rockingham County area of NH that is not accounted for.

Below are listed Revolutionary War Service Records under the name of Isaac COLBY from the National Archives. In some cases I did not include pay amounts to shorten the overall length of this document.
By reviewing this document, I cannot determine if these records are for a single Isaac Colby or more than one. None of the service time overlaps and the two towns of abode listed in the records, Sandown and Londonderry, NH, are very close in proximity. These records could very well be for one single Isaac Colby. If anyone has further information, please contact me. The only record I have found to date in the Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary War Patriots is Isaac Colby, buried in Springfield, NH. At present we do not have firm evidence of his parentage, but he likely came from Rockingham County, NH
