Subject: Colby's in Warren County
Hello,
I am looking for the marriage record of William Colby and Ora Thomas in
Warren County, PA. They would have been married around 1880. There may
have
been two marriages with these names. Any Colby information in this area
would be helpful.
I am also looking for the birth certificate of William G. Colby (same guy).
Born in 1867 in Youngsville, Warren Co.
Any help you can give me would be helpful. Thank you so much for your time.
I would be happy to pay for postage/copies.

Gary, Alice and list:
While looking here and there I came across the Humphrey Cemetery at
Holland, New York, again.
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gdavis/
Was checking the Colbys buried there and it sparked my interest again about
who John Colby was that froze to death in 1817.
I found the following headstones: John Colby d. Sep 6 1862 (75 years) and
his wife
Patty (Martha Blood) b. 1809 d. Jul 11 1877.
Also buried there is Jonathan Colby b. 29 Sep 1788.
and Ezekiel Colby b. 25 Sep 1763 d. 24 Mar 1848 and wife Ruth Davis b. 1768
d. 3 Jul 1838
Ezekiel and Ruth had:
John b. 26 Feb 1787
Jonathan b. 29 Sep 1788
and several others
This is leading me to believe that the family information we have, John
Colby b. 1787 d. 1817 (that froze to death) is NOT the son of Ezekiel Colby
and Ruth Davis. Gary is a descendant of John Colby and Patty Blood and has
understood that John Colby married to Patty Blood was the son of Ezekiel &
Ruth.
This family all being buried in the Humphry Cemetery kind of supports this.
Gary mentioned that Patty Blood is the sister of Eunice Blood wife of Nathan
Colby.
Now upon further search of my files I came across another John Colby born in
1787.
This John was born Dec 9 1787 Sutton, Vermont s/o Thomas Colby and Elizabeth
Atwood.
Information given to me by a descendant of Thomas and Elizabeth says this
John died in 1817 no place given.
Could this possibly be the John that froze to death in New York in Nov
1817???

Wanting to trace back Colby. Father Francis James b. 1922 to Ellen (Nel, nee Burgess) & Ernest Colby - South Africa. Ernest born Yorkshire.
Wilson and all
Need clairfication on this family.
I have a Edwin Hiram Kent b. 28 Mary 1839 New York s/o Hiram Kent & Dolly
Colby.
According to family info.
Edwin married two women.
(1) Mary Godfrey b. 1856 d. 7 Apr 1872
(2) Dorothy Smith b. 1843
Two children are listed for Edwin & Dorothy
Fred Kent b. ? d. 18 Aug 1935
Maud Kent b. 23 Oct 1876
Now Comes the 1880 census
Census gives the ages as:
Fred as 10 making him born in 1870
Maud as 3 matching dob as given.
according to census and other family information the mother
of Fred Kent would have to be Mary Godfrey if her dod is correct.
Does anyone have anything on this family to shed some light to which is
correct.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
