It does not specify in the Census of 1850 that John M. and George J. are
the sons of John and Nancy.
It says they live in the same house.

Hi everyone.
1.
Any idea where John Colby, occupation-Provisions-and his wife Nancy
are from?
They are listed in the 1850 Massachusetts Censu as having been born in
New Hampshire.
Their sons John M. and George J. were listed as born in Massachusetts.
2.
Also, I am still curious about John (Jean), captured in New Hampshire
and taken to Canada ( Chateauguay, St.Regis-now called Akwasasne , and
Montreal.) His parents were listed as Peter Colby and Maria (?) Stra.
John(Jean) married Marie Josephte La Mare in Montreal. Jean is listed
as the husband of Marie-Josephte LaMare on the LaMare family
website. There are no dates of death for them.
John (Jean) nd Marie-Josephte had a son called Jean baptized in
Chateauguay, Que.
Wondering,
Marilyn
