Correction on my dad's date of birth: November 21, 1924 (NOT Nov. 24, 1924). Would still love to hear from anyone who is related. My dad will be 90 years old this November. He is a veteran of WWII (Army Air Corps) and the Korean War (Navy) who served in the US Navy in active duty until Dec. 1964. He retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer. He was also a "Tin Can Sailor", serving on Destroyers. Of these I recall the USS Ozbourne DD 846, USS John W. Thomason DD 760, USS Fletcher DDE 445, USS Laffey DD 724, USS Richmond K. Turner.DLG 20. As a member of the Fleet Reserve, he remained for 10 years in the Naval Reserves and worked in Civil Service at the US Navy Yard in Philadelphia on -what else? Destroyers.

The Noxubee Colbert's are descendants of William Colbert of Columbia Co., GA. He died in 1797 and his family moved first to Montgomery Co, AL and then Noxubee Co.
We may have communicated before. My family is also related to the Sanders and Wilhite families of North Carolina and Georgia. Sanders Wilhite Colbert of Colbert, GA was son of Philip Philpot Colbert. His father was John Colbert.
Have you taken a DNA test? I assume from your note that you have. I have also taken a y-DNA-67 test along with my cousins. I would be happy to compare my DNA with yours.
20 years ago I wrote article on James Colbert of the Chickasaws. It's in the North Carolina Genealogical Journal Society of May 1994 and Feb 1995.
