Turns out that 50 something % is from the british isles and the remainders is from EASTERN Europe, but starts east at the german boarder into the ukraine and south to greece..lol
I have a small 6 % that is not identifiable.

According to his grandmother, The Colbert line came from either Waterford or
Cork. They emigrated into Canada sometime in the 1800. His grandfather was born
in 1893 in Quebec and his dad was also born in Canada. I'd guess somewhere
around middle 1800's. The Christian names in the family are Robert Arnold,
William, Edward, Lawrence, Donald. The girls were Shirley, Cleo, These would be
my husbands aunts and uncles. They moved from Canada to NY in or around 1910

Any Colberts from Ireland do the DNA test? Irish records don't usually go back before the early 1800s and it's hard to confirm matches.
I have 2 Colbert lines - my great-great grandfather who was born around 1800 - no Irish records on him, but I think he came from Waterford.
his wife, Mary Coleman whose mother was Bridget Colbert from Dunmoon Co. Waterford.
I have a lot of distant cousins matches, but haven't gone through them all and some don't have trees, so I can't tell if they have Colberts.
If you have DNA results could you post you account/tree name? maybe we have matches.
I am MColb50 and my tree is Colbert Family Tree

To the Bill Colbert Family! I have been searching for a Carry Talbert that fell of the map. While hunting for my lost g-grandfather, I found something of interest to the Colbert Family trees from the Indian Territories the place my great-grandparents were married. There is an article in The Daily Ardmoreite, about losing your Indian Lands and being Jipped by a crooked lawyer! The date is February 18th 1907 page 2. The title, Colbert Heirs Lose. You can look it up free in The Library of Congress, Historic News Papers, The Daily Ardmoreite. I hope I helped someone!

I am interested in the findings for the James Logan Colbert descendants DNA project. Is there a link or a place to share such? My Colbert family has done DNA testing as well.

Hello Kim, I too am a member of this Colbert family through Levi and 2 of his wives. A very complex family history! I am Chickasaw by blood and have a CDIB that by federal standards proves lineal descent from James Logan Colbert's Chickasaw connection down through the ages to present day Tribal membership that will continue until we as a people change our Constitution or the Tribe no longer exists. I would be interested in the DNA testing and the results thereof.
Is there a registry in connection with the DNA project? If so where can I locate that information? I have a vast amount of information and will share any and all with members of this family.
I look forward to hearing from you,
'Rena D
