I'm the great-granddaughter of Con Colbert's older brother William (b 1877- d 1931 in San Francisco). I haven't heard of a close relative of Con heading out to the Minnesota area, but quite possibly a more distant cousin might be.
Con was one of 13 children, only 3 of whom emigrated from Ireland to the U.S. circa 1897-1902. Those 3 (Joanna, my great-granddad William, and John) went to San Francisco.
Con's father Michael did indeed have a brother (as well as a father) named William. However, this brother William was born ca 1855 and he married Nora DANAHER (1868 - 1939) and had 10 children (including 2 sets of twins). Descendants of their son Timothy are in the Los Angeles area.
Con's sister Catherine (1879 - 1951) married a Richard WOULFE; their 5 children all went into religious life. So a connection might also be via the WOULFE side?

I am researching Robert and Cathrine Colbert who moved to Johnstown, Pa in the middle 1800's. I show a marriage record in Shenadoah Co Va. for Robert Colbert and Cathrine Peer November 19, 1846. If anyone has any knowledge of either Robert or Cathrine before this date, I would appreciate your sharing this information with me.

Hello,
I am very interested in your posting. I am researching George COLBERT/CALBERT, poss wife Caroline WELLS. Their daughter, Matilda "Tilda" Evaline m Samuel Lemuel DUTY 9/21/1871, Mississippi Co., MO. I have not verified Matilda's parents and am not certain they were George and Caroline WELLS COLBERT.
Also, the great granddaughter of Samuel L. DUTY and Matilda Evaline COLBERT, Allie Gertrude SLINKARD, m William R. GAUNT, whose grandfather was also William GAUNT/GANT. Do you show a location for the farm of William GANT?
Thanks,
Linda Cashen Gaunt

Robert J. Colbert married Mary Catherine Peer in Shenandoah Co. VA on 19 Nov 1846. This is as far back as I can trace Robert. Does anyone have any information on Robert prior to 1846?

William the Chickasaw chief, is a son of James Logan Colbert not James' Father William D'Blainville Colbert.
I have connected to someone in my tree that says the Blainville part is the surname of his mother born in Scotland 1650 and died in Puerto Rico in 1700. none of this is proven at present by any documents though
