I have found a Luther E. Colbert, age 21, born 1909. He is living in
Cedartown, GA with his parents. This is Polk County. Info below is from the
census for that area.
My husband's line is also Colbert...but they came down from Rutherford, NC
around 1835-40 and settled first in Lumpkin, Dawson, Cherokee Counties. They
did move over to the Lafayette, GA area...which is north of Cedartown, but I
do not have anyone listed that would match yours right now. One of them
lived in the Trion area...which is in Chattooga County I believe.
Let me know what you think...perhaps I can look up a William Thomas Colbert.
1930 Census
W. Tom Colbert, 48, born in GA...as were both of his parents, married at age
25, (manager of oil tank/RR)
Annie Colbert, age 42, born in GA..as were both of her parents, married at
age 19
Luther E., age 21 (salesman at Rebel Drugs)
Pattie, age 19
Herd, age 16 (beacher helper at finishing plant)
William, age 14
Seals W. age 4

I am researching Robert Colbert from Baltimore County Maryland born 1822 in Ireland and lived in Ash land MD from 1867 till 1889. His wife was Ellen and son's Thomas, William, Danial, John, James, and daughter's Kate and Mary.
Thanks very much
Anthony Long
Sorry. My Colberts were never in Maryland. They were in Virginia before
1750 and after the Revolutionary War moved to Georgia.

Hello Fellow Genealogists!
I am trying to make a collection of Old COLBERT Photos (with info, as well, to put the photos in "context") as a useful "reference" tool, for us all.
I am collecting/compiling and indexing, any Old COLBERT photos (up thru 1960- but prefer earliest possible) in jpeg/gif format-sent as attachment w/email to me -including as much info known about person(s) IN the photo(s)-
such as:name/dates birth/death/marriage; from whom they descend (if known); whom they married, or names of children; what they did for livlihood,etc.,etc.
I will complete this project w/in the next 2 1/2-3months-and anyone who submits an image to me---will receive a compiled photo booklet and access to the COLBERT Family photo/info website, when it is completed.
Also jpeg/gif images of documents/text are welcome (as again, this adds "context" to the person in photo's life)--
such as: scanned b/m/d certificates;military photos; typed pages of family history; sketches of family tree image; gravesite pix; scanned images of pension/military/citizenship/medical records; yearbook photos; news clippings;or scans of family bible pages,etc.,etc.
Please make the jpeg/gif no larger than about 8x10 inches, preferably around 5x7 or 7x9-ish, size.
I hope to make this a really helpful TOOL for all of us COLBERTs--(and any re-lated lines you wish to submit--such as those we married-in "with" or of those of surnames that married "into" us!).
Thanks ever so much---Vienna George.....( PLEASE IGNORE TWO POSTINGS RIGHT BELOW THIS--COMPUTER HICC-UPPED AND WROTE W/OUT ME FINISHING!! SORRY!!)

Hello 1w2256, I believe you mean "descendants" of James Colbert not "ancestors" are listed on the web page you provided. I am interested in what is known of his ancestry and it seems to be a bit vague.

I am looking for any information with regard to the Colbert family in Kileeshill parish, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
I know of an individual called Alexander Colbert who was born in the townland of Ballynahaye on May 3 1879. He married a Jane Hanna. His father was also called Alexander and his wife was Esther Boyd.
The next Colbert, I beleive, was called John but this is where my trail runs cold.
If anyone has nay info, be it marriage, death, birth, property, immigration records then please let me know!

I have in several unlabeled photos which came from an Ash family member. The photos are taken between 1880 and 1900 in Colorado. Known family members in the area at the time were John Ash, Daniel Colbert, Daniel's second wife Julia Spellman, William Clyde Epperson husband of Noni Ash. Attached is one of the photos taken in Colorado Springs, CO. by Gillingham Studios, the photographer was active in the Colorado Springs area between 1882-1890.
