I found a family tree somewhere that showed that my relative Clem Bartow Colbert (b. 19 Jun 1876 Richland, Stewart, Georgia d. 3 Aug 1945 Jacksonville, Duval, Florida)'s parents where a Frederick G Colbert and Annie Tamzin "Tamsey" Whaley.
However, I can not find any birth record, will, deed or anything to verify who his parents where. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, I know the Gen. William Colbert of MS, if that is the d'Blainville one. Any source based information on the d'Blainville part? I am assuming that goes back to England?

My family surname is also Colbert, but we can't get past a brickwall in the late 1700's. I read this same general information about Wm. d'Blainville and James Logan, but so far I haven't found anything to prove this. Has anyone? DNA is indicated our family to be Irish, however.

Well Maj. Gen William d'Blainville Colbert was born in England in 1695. His son Capt. James Logan Colbert was born in Scotland. Together the came across to South Carolina then moved into Alabama/Mississippi and joined the Chikasaw Indian Nation and helped negotiate the Treaty between the USA and the Chikasaw Nation that saw them get paid for there land, the only Indian Nation to get paid for there land.

Hello, I have traced my family on my dad's side back to my G-G-G-G-G-G-G-G-Grandfather Maj. Gen. William d'Blainville Colbert. However, I can not find any information on him such as parents/siblings.
If anyone has found such information or is related to me please let me know.
Thanks in Advance

Con Colbert's father's name was Michael, but his grandfather was William. Con Colbert's parents married in 1876 however, which is a little early for a son of the Colbert-Woulfe marriage to have reached adulthood and there appears to be no Michael among them. Perhaps Michael Colbert was a brother of your William and both were son's of the William who is the 1916 leader's grandfather? Athea is a small place, and Colbert is an unusual surname. I'd be amazed if there were no link.
