Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Dear Mr. Drewery, I'm sorry that I have no information to share with you, but your message raises a question in my mind. Can you tell me what "Pleasant Green" is? It sounds like the name of a plantation; any idea where? Have you learned more about your ancestor George?
I also descend from this Jesse, through his daughter Alice Jackson, but have no idea of his background. I believe that he was in Mason Co., Ky., by 1790. Nothing that I've ever seen implied that he had any wealth to speak of. One night he and his son Humphrey went to Jesse's daughter's father-in-law's farm nearby and stole a hog, staying up to slaughter it to destroy the evidence. They were found out anyway.

The William here was born around the same time as Jesse Colbert, b. probably Va., died in Augst, 1852, Champaign Co., Ohio. Any idea where Wm. came from, any siblings; anything? So far Jesse's background is unknown, as is his wife Frances'.
