They were about 45 or 50 at there time of arivel in the U.S. They had John, William, Daniel, James, Mary, and Haty, with them and they all lived in Baltimore Maryland except John Colbert who came to Washington DC in 1875 and Married Annie McDonough also from Ireland they are my G.Grandparents. Thanks for any info will share all I have.

The point no one is saying is "so what"?
I have all the books and a database of 80,000 + names in chelsea revere and
winthrop. I research denning dever cogan carroll mchugh malone. So you find a
denning. lets say
12 nov 1853 In search of Patrick DENNING from Pullboy St.,Navan [Co.Meath]
when last heard from [3 yrs ago] was in Plattsburg ,N.Y. Any information will be
thankfully recieved by by his cousin Patrick DENNING ,Oswego,N.Y.-
and you are looking for a patrick "WOW I FOUND MY HIT" even the new poster on
George W. IN N.Y. today could get excited about this . but what does it say?
that the patrick who was in meath is thought to have been in Plattsburg 3 yrs
ago. Which patrick? I have 31 just in my database?
The best story to get this point across is a women wrote the clerk of
chelsea . asking for the birth certificate for James Denning born between 1878
and 1883.The clerk wrote back which one we have seven of them.I have 3000 mass
dennings at least 2200 are from chelsea. And you find a Patrick or a James who
is being looked for by his brother john and sisters margaret catherine and
mary.
Good luck every pat or james has a brother john and sisters margaret
catherine and mary.
just be careful before you jump on something that looks like your answer to a
prayer
Btw i searched denning and didnt get the hits i knew were there . the search
engine missed them

Naomi, Thank You for your reply, i would like to share any information. e-mail me at arlene(a)duracom.net
Henry C. Smith apparently changed his name from Colbert to Smith. The enrollment card for the Chickasaw Nation Freedom Roll list him as Henry Smith w/ his owner being a Colbert and his parents as Lewis Colbert and Rose Colbert w/ James Colbert being their owner. I'am interested in finding any information for Lewis and Rose Colbert also.

I just came across your posting regarding "Isham Colbert sone of Ned Roberts *Oklahoma* African American*. I am descended from Charles Cohee, Sr., who was born in Mississippi and came on the trail of tears in 1837 to Oklahoma. His son, Charles Cohee, Jr. was my ggrandfather. Charles Cohee, Sr.'s mother was Lydia Colbert, daughter of Major James Colbert of Mississippi. Charles Cohee, Jr.'s daughter, Elizabeth Cohee, married Asberry Smith of Tallapoosa, Alabama. Asberry was the son of Henry (Davis) Smith.
Some of the names you mention in your posting sound familiar to me -- Viney Jimmy, Ned Roberts, and Henry Smith.
I would very much like to talk to you about all these possible connections. Your email was returned, saying that your mailbox was full. I'm sure there is a link here.

Hi
I'm a descendant of Stephen Colbert who came from County Wexford, Ireland to Newfoundland, Canada circa 1800.
There would also be connections to English, Doyle, MacDonald and Hogan through marriages with the Colberts.

My Irish Colberts arrived in 19882 and went briefly to Messina NY to visit a related family "the Bellamy's" one of two of whom was/ere priest(s). They then moveved directly back to CCT and stayed put. Also all of their days are accounted for. I'm most interested in Finding a link back to the 'ol' Sod" in the vicinity of Youghal incounty Cork, east, I believe. Send me e-mail if you want to discuss specific names/possible relationships. I saw your message. My Colbert ancestors are from Ireland as well. And from what I have been able to find out they went from Ireland to Connecticut to Illinois and then to North Dakota. We should compare notes.

March 4, 1756:
Whereas some person near Brandywine meeting-house, on the road leading from Philadelphia to Lancaster, applied to Elizabeth Colbert, of the city of Philadelphia, for her child, Mary Colbert, to keep her till she was of age, and had her away on liking about two months ago: the mother, as the child is not bound, is very uneasy, and wants her again; and as the said Elizabeth Colbert did not take the name of the woman that had her daughter away, she is obliged to make enquiry in this publick manner. Whoever has got the said Mary Colbert, is desired to produce her to the Overseer of the poor of the city of Philadelphia, or to the child's mother, as soon as possible.
N.B. The person that took the girl away promised to bring her to Philadelphia in two weeks, if they liked each other, in order to get her bound, but it is now above two months, and she is not heard of.
I am not related to this family, I am just passing on this information, which comes from a book titled "Runaway Women, Elopements And Other Miscreant Deeds, As Advertised In The Pennsylvania Gazette - 1728 -1789. (together with a few abused wives and unfortunate children)." Compiled by Judith Ann Highley Meier. Published by Closson Press. 1993. Page 22.

Hi Kimberly,
Thanks for your response. I believe our William Colbert/Calvert's may be different for the following reasons: My William is born May 10, 1772 in NC. He married Margeret Williams (born March 1, 1777 in GA) January 13, 1794 in GA. Margaret died about 1817.
I don't know children other than my Flemming T. Colbert (born April 4, 1796 in Green Co. GA). Flemming married Sarah C. Vincent February 21, 1816 in Putnam Co. GA. Their daughter, Sarah Ann Eliza Colbert was born March 21, 1826 in Montgomery Co. AL - she is my ggg grandmother. You mentioned the BLM website. Is this the Bureau of Land Management? Also, if there is more info I would appreciate learning more about the family.
Thanks again,
Johnny
Dear Listers
Apologies for posting something which may not affect any of you. If you are
affected please make contact as requested below, not with myself or the
list.
This is from the listowner of another list, Wendy Archer:- There have been a
number of messages around the lists to which I'm subscribed reporting
unauthorised withdrawal of funds from credit card and bank accounts
connected with the company Research-UK, now bought by Ancestor Detectives.
I've been in contact with Sussex Police. They will collate all reports on
this. Please contact their CRIB - Crime Recording Investigation Bureau on
08456070999.
They've now set up a reference number for the reports - quote 587 on 3
March. They *can* be contacted by email on contact.centre(a)sussex.police.uk ,
but as they have one person dealing with email, and 50 on the phones, they
suggest those in the UK use the phone! This is not a company I am familiar
with. I do not wish to make any suggestions about them or their business
methods or probity, simply to pass on the reported existence of a problem.
May I ask that only listowners/list admins post this on?
Kindest Regards
Jen L Colbert
