Did you COLBERTs from Tipperary happen to settle in Canada, perhaps in the
London, Ontario, area in the early-1800s?
I have Elizabeth COLBERT, daughter of John COLBERT of Cloughjordan,
Tipperary. Elizabeth's seven siblings were Mary, born and died in
Cloughjordan; Thomas (1804-1861), who married Catherine "Kitty" MOONEY and
had eight children; Rebecca, who married John "Stoney" SHOEBOTTOM in
Cloughjordan; Sarah, who married Henry "Carman" HODGINS; Margaret, who
married Joseph ARMITAGE; Ann, who married Frederick FITZGERALD; and Susan.
I do not know who John COLBERT's wife was.
My Elizabeth married William RAWLINS, from Tipperary or Queen's County.
Their daughter, Sarah "Sally," was born in 1815 in Queen's County and
married in Arva, Ontario, in 1831.
Does anyone sound familiar?

I am looking for information on my Colbert ancestors. My great-grandmother was born Margaret A. Colbert on Dec 27, 1887 in Illinois. Her parents were William and Mary Colbert. William was born in Connecticut and Mary born in Illinois (I don't know their birth dates). According to a cencus report I found, both William's and Mary's parents were all born in Ireland. I have also found that Margaret had a brother named Leo M. Colbert.
Any information/leads that anyone may have would be appreciated.

I think you are right about the first one. The Sina I am looking for was born in 1862 or 1866 so she wouldn't have been listed on anything in 1855. She was born in Skullyville County. Thanks for that.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I have found several David Colbert's and this one sounds like it may be the one you are looking for even though there is no mention of a daughter named Sina:
Colbert, David, Choctaw lived in Skullyville County in 1855, his family then consisting of Amy, Leonidas, Frances, Jincy, nathaniel, and Charles Colbert, and Eastman James. he was possibly the David Colbert shown onthe Chickasaw annuity rolls for 1857 - 1860. He was probably a brother to Elijah Colbert, judge of Pickens County in 1884. David has a daughter, Frances ( born 1845) who married an Adams, a Green, Samuel Cochran, and Theophilus H. East, the latter on May 13, 1884. She seperated from East in 1892 and was going by the name of Frances Adams in 1897.
(Source of info : Applications for enrollment, Chikasaw Nation, Case # 1615.)
There was also this one:
Colbert, David, Chickasaw, first metioned in 1836 when he witnessed a deed in Monroe County, Mississippi. He was interpreter for emigration agents from October 26 to November 27, 1838. In 1839 he was in the west, his household then consisting of one male under 10, one male 10 - 20, two males over 50, one female under 10, one female 10 - 20, and one female 20 - 50. He then owned one slave. On May 23, 1843 he was granted a reseve in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. Hew was given a patent for that tract on July 7, 1843. The 1847 census shows him living alone, half white, age over 18.

I am seeking any and all information on an Alfred William Colbert, born around 1887 and married a Minnie Dailey in Belle Ellen, Al in 1913. They had two children, Charles Alfred and Ruby. However, Alfred left them...to go off to the military was the story...and never returned. Minnie eventually divorced him, as his parents told her that he was married and had children with someone else. He may have been from Georgia originally. Any info or leads would be appreciated.

Anyone researching the COLBERT'S in Russell or Barbour Co's AL? My g-grandmother, Harriet Josephine COLBERT married William Augustus PHILLIPS in 1880. (The Census Records show them in Eufala, Barbour Co, AL at that time.)
The siblings of Josephine that I have are: Samuel; Lida & Lula (twins); Betty & Willie. The names I have for her parents are Elsia? & Harriet Martha (Dismuke) COLBERT of GA. The mother, Harriet Martha (Dismuke) Colbert (1824-1910) went to TX. She's buried Rose Hill Cemetery, Blooming Grove, TX.
Any help will be appreciated......."DU"
