Thanks,

My gggrandfather, Rev. Benjamin Colbert (born ???) married a lady named Peggy (Thurmond or Tutman). The only children that I know they had were Ed and Moses Colbert, my ggrandfather who lived from Nov. 20, 1890 to Oct. 15, 1971. Moses married Sallie Lee, who lived from 1893 to Mar. 13, 1959. Both of them are buried at Simonia Baptist Church in Columbia County, not far from Augusta. I can't seem to find any information about Rev. Colbert and before.

I sent you an email about your grandmother, did you get it?
Carol:
I'm not sure what you're asking for. Chief William Colbert of the Chickasaws
married a Jesse Moniac ca. 1788. There is no record of them having a son
named David. And even if they did, there is no way that David could have a
son named Riley that was born in 1920. David would have been over 100 yrs
old at the time of Riley's birth.

Alfred William Colbert was my husband's grandfather. We have no information on his family. He married Minnie Dailey in Belle Ellen, AL in 1913. At the time of his first child's birth, Charles Alfred in 1914, he was 27 years old. That would have him born about 1887. He was a carpenter and the son's birth record states that he was born in AL. However....he and Minnie had two children together and then they divorced. Apparently, Alfred had another wife and kids somewhere. It is possible that he went away to war??? If you have any information on an Alfred William born about 1887 in this area of the country please notify me at: pogosbill(a)aol.com
Thanks.
