I am finding a lot of conflicting records about James Logan Colbert. I have
Chickasaw lineage dating back to his 1st Fullblood Chickasaw Wife and their
Daughter Sally (House of In-cun-no-mar) Colbert (before 1785) who Married
Thomas Love.
I also have lineage to James Logan Colbert and his 3rd Wife (Half Blood
Chickasaw) and their daughter Susy who Married James Allen of Nashville
(their daughter is Margaret "Peggy" Allen.
I am trying to find out what I can abut this lineage. I am searching for
several things.
1- Where did James Logan Colbert originate from, I have conflicting
information from several sources. (1)- He was a passenger on the Prince of
Wales from Inverness Scotland that landed in Darien Ga (2)- That he was a
stowaway on the same ship and (3) That he was born in the Carolinas. - If
anyone has knowledge about this it would be helpful. Additionally if anyone
has knowledge of his parents and ancestors, I would be grateful.
2- What are the names of his Wives. I am assuming his first wife is from the
In-cun-no-mar Tribe because since James was an outsider, he became part of
his wifes tribe.
I am new to this research and I'm constantly acquiring new resource material
on a daily basis and will share the info with all parties interested.
