The majority of my Colbert relatives are also from Pennsylvania...
Pittsburgh area... Dunbar, Dawson, Greensberg.. to name a few
places...anything familiar with those areas?

I wish I could help you, but the Colbert's that are my descendants were all
from Pennsylvania. Unfourtantely, I know of no Colbert's from Texas. If I
should come across anything that relates to the information in your email, I
will pass it along to you. Good Luck in your search.

Jo Ann, Carol and All,
There is a site, anybirthday.com/search.htm/, to locate folks in the United
States. You provide the name. The search engine returns their date of birth,
last/current city, state and zip code. The information is taken from public
records and is not a violation of privacy.
You will also find your name in there. That's usually when it becomes an issue
of privacy. The way to remove your name is to click on FAQ, then privacy
statement, then click on "opt out option". Copy your information exactly as it
appears. You will need to fill out name, birthdate, city, state, zip to remove
from database.
This is a very busy site. You can expect to be timed out quite a bit.
Hope this helps. Happy Hunting!

Jo Ann,
I think the Colbert men have a way of disappearing. I am doing research on
Riley Colbert who disappeared in 1948 from Pensacola, Fl after his son
Joseph was born. I have tracked most of Riley family down to Southwest
Alabama, and I have hit a lot of dead ends but I keep trying. Riley was
part of the Pourch Creek Indian tribe. I have not come across any Raymond
Colbert, but if I do I will let you know.

Surname: colbert

My father, Raymond Everett Colbert, was born in Lincoln County Texas approximately
1928. He married my mother, Willie Dee Silk, in Oklahoma (around Cushing
or Agra). They were divorced in November 1950 and I wasn't born until December
12, 1950. I have never had any contact with him and I would like to find
out if there are any relatives listed. Please contact me through my e-mail
address

Good Day Hugh and All,
I'm not familiar with Hulbert. My
ggrandmother was Catherine Colbert Dalton,
Clonmel, County Tipperary. In researching
the origin of the Colbert name, I found two
brothers who emigrated to Ireland. One
settled in Cork the other in Limerick.
The name Colbert has it's source in Viking
history. They probably left the name behind
in Scotland around 900-1000 AD. The Scots
helped the French in the Crusades and that's
supposedly how Colbert (Cuilbeard) arrived in
France.
Persecuted as Huguenots, the brothers headed
for Ireland. Jean-Baptiste Colbert is said
to have "purchased" his lineage through Louis
XIV's genealogist, Pierre d'Hozier.
There are also Colberts in Northern Ireland.
I believe they arrived directly from
Scotland.
Please share your Hulbert family story. When
did they emigrate to England from France?
Were they Huguenots? Why did they change the
name?
Regards,
K.T. Mapstone
